Hi - thank you for your answer!

If that doesn't work, it might not be stable at XT PE speeds so you should try a lower clocked BIOS? What colour is the video card PCB?

The PCB is red!

The weird is, that i have this blocks not if i have to original BIOS running, but even if i have 16 pixel pipes enabled i got them. But it happens first when Win XP shows the Login Screen (some times there are no blocks, first after loading the Desktop). Will try to remove all old Device Drivers and install the 4.12.

Weird,

removed all Drivers, installed Catalyst 4.12 with no luck. Then the included from Sapphire - even no luck. With ATITool it runs perfect with 520/560 (even higher), but when i enable the 16 Pipelines (tried the X800 Pro 16p Bios too) i get this blocks you can see on the screenshot. Someone seen this before. I think that some of the disabled Pipelines are broken. I get the same blocks (not wild mixed over the screen, just like a nice build mask with same sized rects and the same space between them) when starting a DirectX Game (HL2 / Lord of the Rings).

Screenshot

Any help would be great. If someone can proofe that it is a Pipeline Problem it would be great too.

Regards

If you have gotten rid of all drivers already from previous installations and totoally re-installed the drivers for the card...Sounds to me like a probable issue with the pipeline. If it is functioning fine at 12pipes with the higher clock speeds, and not at 16pipes. I would bring it back down to 12pipes and keep the OC with ATITool you are getting now.

Hi Guys, My first time posting!

Card: X800 PRO Sapphire
Cooling: Arctic cooling 4 silver 5

Memory is 2.0NS but the Pipes ARE NOT laser cut. I physically checked this. I can overclock the card with 12 pipes to over 608 Core and 580 memory.
These will also increase, temperature is only around 33-40C.

Now, Can I mod it into a XTPE because it will more then enough accept the speeds. I have read about the guy that did try and it worked then didnt.

If so, should I do the same as the guide? or change it?

Thanx
Sam

So you are sure that this wouldn't work with a PCI Express board because i am building a whole new comp and the XT Express is way overpriced... the card i am looking at is the Sapphire X800Pro VIVO it has the yellow thing(hah) i dunno about the RAM but if i flashed to the PCIe drivers... wouldn't it work?

Also, above the UPC is written: "Radeon X800 Pro 256mb V/VO/D"

What does the "V/VO/D" stand for?

(I have an unopened BBA X800 that I'll probably return unless I can verify it with a high degree of certainty that it will mod to a PE)

Hi, my BBA X800 Pro has the same thing printed on the UPC label. I don't know what the "V/VO/D" means, but the card has the Rage Theater chip, the yellow connector next to the molex power connector, Samsung 1.6 memory chips, and the pipelines were *not* laser-cut. I don't have a video-in connection, so it doesn't qualify as a VIVO, but it seems that all the necessary attributes are there for the mods to work correctly. I've only flashed the BIOS to enable the 16 pipelines, but the mod worked flawlessly. Of course, this is only my experience, and not a guarantee that your card will be similarly equipped - nonetheless, I hope the information is of some help to you. Good luck!

Sorry if this is already posted, but what is the best x800pro card to buy, and do you know a cheap online place to buy it at or b&m store?

Hey I searched this forum and others, tried to go through all of the data, but really haven't found a straight answer.

Is there a mod for the PCI-E version of this card? (I See some people asked it earlier in THIS thread, but there weren't any answers yet). And if so... what brand.

Thanks in advance!

There are PCIe versions the question is does this work with them... i don't see why it wouldn't flash to a normal XT if i load the PCIe XT drivers.... but none of the people who "know what's up" have replied so i am holding off.... heh

Anybody know of a Bios which will just unlock the 4 extra pipes on 2.0ns memory?

Sapphire x800Pro Non Vivo, Uncut pipes

Any VIVO should do the trick, but these are my favorites:

BBA
PowerColor
Sapphire

Cheap online, well I'll have to look into it.

BuRnInICE on page 9 has the Asus version:

Just did a 3dmark 2005 comparison.

Stock standard Asus AX800 256mb VIVO 1.6ns Samsung - 3790 marks
Modded to ATI X800XT PE 256mb with 16 pipelines and @ 500/500mhz - 5389 marks

Almost 1600 marks increase.

Temps during the benchmark was from 43 degrees idle to 51 degrees load

My card has the stock standard Asus Cooler on it with 4 ramsinks on opposite side (One on each memory chip) I've ordered an Arctic Cooler ATI 4 to help keep it even cooler.

Sorry PAYNEY, the only way to enable the 16 pipes for your case is to do an hardware mod.

Seems some people r having temp issues after getting their X800 pro modded.
I have a PowerColor X800Pro VIVO(samsung1.6,yellow connector), will the stock cooler hold up against the heat once I turn it into a X800XT PE?

Hi there :) I am having some serious problems with my PowerColor X800 Pro VIVO, I have done the mod, and was running speeds of 540/600 on watercooling. But when I booted up my computer now recently, it had all kinds of wierd vertical lines all over... So I figured it was best trying to flash back to the fabric settings, with 12 pipelines, and the original BIOS. Dumb and reckless as I was, I did of course ignore the "saving-the-old-BIOS" thing... *blushing* Any of you guys know how I could go back to the old BIOS, and lock the 4 pipes that I opened with the Gigabyte BIOS? Anyone knows how to get a PowerColor BIOS anywhere? I would highly appriciate any help :)

PS: Sorry about the english (Norwegian)

I think it was asked before, but will the Sapphire TOXIC X800 Pro ViVo flash to an XT PE? Will it encounter temp problems? Anyone have this card or an X800 Pro ViVo with an ATi Silencer 4 and can share their temps. Will this card be able to handle XT PE speeds? Also I'm look at this (click here) refurbished OEM X800 TOXIC. Will it flash you think, and you think I should get it?

Is there a chance that the TOXIC I posted above was bought and returned because it came with GC20 memory? Or should ALL ViVos have GC16?

Serious problems with my Sapphire X800 Pro VIVO. I have the 1.6 memory and first overclocked the card to 520/560 and ran 3DMark to make sure it was stable at those speeds, no problems. I flashed with gvf11 as the flash program and r80x256v.f1 for the bios. I now have 16 pipes and more artifacts than you can shake a stick at!!! Lowering the clocks using ATI Tool had no effect on the artifacts. Temps are not bad. I flashed back to my "backup" bios and it's still has 16 pipes and all the artifacts. I also used Flashrom to use Sapphires original bios linked on this site, I still can't get back to 12 pipes!

I also read on here where the the Catalyst Control Center Drivers caused a problem like this for one user, but where uninstalling the CCC drivers and going to the Control Panel version seemed to get rid of his artifacts, I was not so lucky!

It's so bad that I had to drop from 32bit to 16bit color just so I don't have artifacts on my desktop and text!!!

I need Help!

Thank you in advance.
