Dukakis was up by a lot at this point in the election and he lost to Bush. We must act as if Joe is down in the polls every day and then get out the vote like it.

It's more than a little funny to visit forums dominated by Trumpists (I don't dare post, just watch) these days. The people who were shouting "Clinton lost, get over it" and dreaming of a Trump dictatorship are now predicting the end of society if Biden wins, because... well, apparently irony and self-awareness are lost on them.

Nah. They're completely consistent with this one. The only reason Hillary & Biden couldn't execute Jade Helm & the FEMA muslim gayification camps is because Trump saved the country from that. He thwarted the Deep State conspiracy. He'll never let Soros & Gates put mind control nanobots in vaccines that are a hoax, anyway. We'll pray this away like we did smallpox. That's what really happened.

Trump retreated back to a safe space tonight. I'm hopeful that isn't a winning strategy. He is exposed as insane when the interviewer isn't biased.

Latest Reuters/Ipsos poll shows Biden's lead only 8 points, with 16 percent undecided. link

Those supporting (planning to vote for him) are only 46%.

Just what we need a significant percentage of the population refusing to make a choice or wasting their vote on a “third (turd) party” candidate. WTF?

Turd red right-wing or douche blue right-wing. Voting Democrat twice got America DJT, any normalcy candidate can get us someone worse than DJT. Have hope with Joe Biden till 2024 rolls by "I AM BETTER THAN JOE BIDEN/TOKEN BF VP VOTE ME, DRAIN SWAMP I PROMISE" - anti-incumbant candidate

Democrats most popular
Republicans second popular
Libertarian third popular
However, these parties are all led by right-wing politics. A vote for them isn't going to solve anything and only allow for no problems to be solved. Especially, when they need to be solved now.

Conversations I've seen there are open rebellion with the expectation that the military will support them in violently overtuning the election, if Trump loses.

I have far more faith than that in the proud men and women who serve our country and took an oath to defend the Constitution.

Something I have noticed with great consistency among Trump supporters these last 4 years is a total lack of self-awareness.
Thats what happens when yur completely brainwashed. You absolutely do not see the connection between your actions and your thoughts and your opinions.

You know someone is desperate when they link a poll and say someone leading by eight points is a bad thing. Eight points would be an epic annihilation.

Can polls take into account the closet Trump voters, the ones who are too scared/embarrassed to say in public that they will be voting for him? Who knows, maybe some of the people polled say they'll vote Biden but in reality will vote Trump? Excuse my ignorance on how polling works.

They don’t need to take it into account because it doesn’t exist to any meaningful extent. National polls in 2016 and 2018 very accurately predicted Trump support so unless the idea is they weren’t ashamed in 2016 or 2018 but are now the polls are fine.

I know it makes sense to think that Trump’s voters would be ashamed to admit they support him but...they aren’t.

Polling experts have been noticing a divergence in live caller and online polls. The former show a large and widening gap while the latter seem to mostly show a steady race with a 8-9 point Biden advantage.

Meanwhile the WH wants to argue that Trump isn't on social media very much and that Fox News polls are fake on Fox News...

Where did the polling go wrong in 2016 then (which put Hilary ahead)?

I think his 30-35% base are not ashamed to admit it, but there are people who will vote republican no matter what, but maybe they don't support Trump (in the end though they will vote Republican) so they are "undecided" maybe in polls?

The polling wasn’t particularly wrong in 2016, it got his support within 1 point.

Way to put words in my mouth. I in no way said it was a "bad thing". I simply presented the data.
But now that you mention it, it *is* a trend downward from the double digits people have been throwing around in this thread.

Of course you did, that’s why you said ‘only 8%’. Don’t play these silly ‘who, me?’ games.

Just be happy that Biden currently enjoys an enormous lead. It’s what you say you want, after all.

Every election is unique, some more than others. This one is unique because we haven't had a truly dangerous pandemic in 100 years. Faced with that challenge, Trump & his minions have failed miserably. We're currently in worse shape than Brazil. Only a miracle can save him.

Cook just moved 5 senate races towards the Democrats.
I feel that America's prospects of redemption are basically double their effectiveness in trouncing the R-pub tickets in November. The more resounding the message, the better our prospects... in spades, no trumps allowed, or trump hangers-on.
