Coming from the resident king of sheets who was the only one to inject race into this case.

From OP article
Activists were rallying tonight outside the Dearborn Heights Police station over McBride’s death.

“Black life is not valued in America, not worthy, not respected,” said Detroit activist Yusef Shaker, who is helping lead the rally. “Here was a woman who was seeking help from potential danger and her life was taken...It's a Trayvon Martin case all over again.”

Writer Dream Hampton and Illana Weaver, a Detroit rapper known as Invincible, were helping organize the protest, Shaker said.

The rally is about “recognizing the value of a woman and the value of a black person,” Shaker said.

Lol. Fucking racist.

We protest by shooting people trying to break in.

Try it again. Get dead. In the grand scheme Darwin wins.

Don't want to get dead? Don't try to enter another mans home.

Just read the autopsy and there is no mention of the wound being anything but straight front to back and a little right to left.

There is nothing about an upward wound track, so cancel the thought about it matching the claim of an accidental shooting.

http://www.detroitnews.com/article/...lose-range?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE

Reading the ME report it, states that the entry point was at soft tissue; That rules out the forehead area.
The drawings in the report show the cheek/nasal area as the impact.
From that point a straight shot (horizontal) does not seem to get to where the brain is located.

Such is my hypothesis that the shot had to be at a slight upward angle for pellets to be removed from the brain itself..

What happened to the she suffered a significant head wound?

The shotgun may have erased the signs of it?

Also, closed head injuries can be very serious, and take a while to show effects, and have little visible sign of damage.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natasha_Richardson#Injury_and_death]

I consider a "head wound" area to be from ear to ear across the forehead line and above.

The shotgun entry point was below that area.

The ME also should have been looking for such; given that she had been in an accident.

If it was a closed wound; different story; how would a bystander be able to report such. I suspect that she had some blood cut from the accident and wiped her forehead/face

Sounds like the world was saved from a drunk driver killing someone.

yeah if she ends being wasted, Im going to have to dig through some of the DD threads on here and see if any of the OMG I CANT BELEIVE SHE WAS SHOT people are the same ones that advocate a firing squad for DUI's and see why they changed their mind :p

She was found to be .218 and had some pot in her system. From the Detroit Free Press today.

Sounds like this, she was fucked up, got into yet another accident, did NOT want the pokie to find out so she split. Got her bearings mixed up and wandered around the park for a while then made it to outer drive. Started knocking on doors, maybe even a little loudly and foolishly cussing and yelling, guy got scared was woken up and himself not 100% all with it yet and accidentally shot her. Has nothing to do with Detroit (as again this was NOT Detroit and a nice neighborhood), has nothing to with her gender, has nothing to do with the color of her skin, has nothing to do with some secret break in she had planned... Wrong place, wrong time, wrong demeanor, wrong guy to wake up who was legally protecting his house and his life.

Wow, if she was .218 at time of death hours later she must have been really wasted at the time of the accident. Still sad she's dead, but as Soundmanred said, she might well have killed someone else by being that irresponsible.

Today's lesson: Don't drink and drive - or knock.

I disagree with this and I doubt the law would allow such a broad interpretation. To be in fear of your life the person has to be doing something that would warrant you actually being afraid. Banging on someone's door no matter what time it is doesn't warrant opening the door and shooting the person whether by accident or on purpose. And it sounds like he did not call the police till afterwards.

She didn't kill anyone or hurt anyone for that matter. And its kind of sickening by anyone to put forth the notion she deserved to die. Not that I am surprised by that notion here given the circumstances.

If only the world was such a simple place.

If you go around rattling doorknobs and looking like you're breaking into homes then you just might get shot.

Did I (we) call it or what? No one acts like that sober.

What a loser and what an idiot. Not saying she deserved it but if you live recklessly like that you will die young, she was no exception.

If you're driving with a .218 bac, wrecking cars, and drunkedly breaking into houses then you certainly deserve to die.

Oh... I don't know for 100% sure he won't get charged with something and I am still not 100% sure he shouldn't be. I DID live in Detroit for a short time when we were first married not too far north from here on Asbury Park and DID have a few loud, angry black guys banging on the door in the middle of the night looking for someone in the wrong house. I had a shotgun back then too but I made sure I didn't wind up in the papers and on the news for shooting one of them accidentally or otherwise. It was a case of wrong house and they knew under no uncertain terms that I was armed and ready to defend my house and my family behind the locked door. Not sure what happened here to escalate this to the point of accidental discharge. I can't relate with accidentally discharging any weapon I own and killing anyone... yet.

I think with each passing day and no charges the more likely no charges will be brought against the homeowner. I also wonder if the "accidentally discharging" is more like after he realized it was a woman that he didn't mean to shoot her.

I wouldn't go so far as to say she deserved to die, but she certainly had reckless disregard for the lives of others and by her own behavior certainly contributed to her own death. That said, I can still see prosecuting the homeowner for negligently shooting her. A firearm, like an automobile, is a huge responsibility and potentially deadly. That she ignored her responsibility hours before (and apparently, did so regularly) does not absolve him of his own. That he legitimately suspected someone was trying to break into his house does not absolve him of his responsibility to safely handle his firearm.

I will say though that the information we've seen so far does make me less vehement that he be prosecuted, given her own reckless and irresponsible behavior which set up the situation.

Holy shit I agree with an umbrella post in its entirety.

Looks like we should know whether charges will be filed against the homeowner tomorrow.

Report shows Renisha McBride was highly intoxicated when she was fatally shot

Renisha McBride was highly intoxicated when she was fatally shot on the porch of a Dearborn Heights home earlier this month — a new detail that came to light a day before Wayne County’s prosecutor is scheduled to make an announcement in the controversial case.

McBride’s blood alcohol level was 0.218%, and marijuana was detected in her system, according to the toxicology report released today by the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office.
County Prosecutor Kym Worthy is poised to make an announcement about the case at a news conference Friday, when she may decide whether the homeowner who shot McBride will face criminal charges. McBride, 19, was shot in the face Nov. 2 by a 54-year-old man who told police he thought someone was breaking into his home and accidentally fired his 12-gauge shotgun.

I can't help but notice you are stating that she tried to enter his home. Is that confirmed or your personal version?
