OMG! That means the racist monster shot her while she was on the ground begging for help!

Activists were rallying tonight outside the Dearborn Heights Police station over McBrides death.
Black life is not valued in America, not worthy, not respected, said Detroit activist Yusef Shaker, who is helping lead the rally. Here was a woman who was seeking help from potential danger and her life was taken...It's a Trayvon Martin case all over again.
Writer Dream Hampton and Illana Weaver, a Detroit rapper known as Invincible, were helping organize the protest, Shaker said.
The rally is about recognizing the value of a woman and the value of a black person, Shaker said.

Just read the autopsy and there is no mention of the wound being anything but straight front to back and a little right to left.
There is nothing about an upward wound track, so cancel the thought about it matching the claim of an accidental shooting.

What happened to the she suffered a significant head wound?
The shotgun may have erased the signs of it?
Also, closed head injuries can be very serious, and take a while to show effects, and have little visible sign of damage.

Sounds like the world was saved from a drunk driver killing someone.
Wow, if she was .218 at time of death hours later she must have been really wasted at the time of the accident. Still sad she's dead, but as Soundmanred said, she might well have killed someone else by being that irresponsible. She was found to be .218 and had some pot in her system. From the Detroit Free Press today.
Sounds like this, she was fucked up, got into yet another accident, did NOT want the pokie to find out so she split. Got her bearings mixed up and wandered around the park for a while then made it to outer drive. Started knocking on doors, maybe even a little loudly and foolishly cussing and yelling, guy got scared was woken up and himself not 100% all with it yet and accidentally shot her. Has nothing to do with Detroit (as again this was NOT Detroit and a nice neighborhood), has nothing to with her gender, has nothing to do with the color of her skin, has nothing to do with some secret break in she had planned... Wrong place, wrong time, wrong demeanor, wrong guy to wake up who was legally protecting his house and his life.

Today's lesson: Don't drink and drive - or knock.

I disagree with this and I doubt the law would allow such a broad interpretation. To be in fear of your life the person has to be doing something that would warrant you actually being afraid. Banging on someone's door no matter what time it is doesn't warrant opening the door and shooting the person whether by accident or on purpose. And it sounds like he did not call the police till afterwards.
I wouldn't go so far as to say she deserved to die, but she certainly had reckless disregard for the lives of others and by her own behavior certainly contributed to her own death. That said, I can still see prosecuting the homeowner for negligently shooting her. A firearm, like an automobile, is a huge responsibility and potentially deadly. That she ignored her responsibility hours before (and apparently, did so regularly) does not absolve him of his own. That he legitimately suspected someone was trying to break into his house does not absolve him of his responsibility to safely handle his firearm. She didn't kill anyone or hurt anyone for that matter. And its kind of sickening by anyone to put forth the notion she deserved to die. Not that I am surprised by that notion here given the circumstances.

Report shows Renisha McBride was highly intoxicated when she was fatally shot
Renisha McBride was highly intoxicated when she was fatally shot on the porch of a Dearborn Heights home earlier this month — a new detail that came to light a day before Wayne County’s prosecutor is scheduled to make an announcement in the controversial case.
McBride’s blood alcohol level was 0.218%, and marijuana was detected in her system, according to the toxicology report released today by the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office.
County Prosecutor Kym Worthy is poised to make an announcement about the case at a news conference Friday, when she may decide whether the homeowner who shot McBride will face criminal charges. McBride, 19, was shot in the face Nov. 2 by a 54-year-old man who told police he thought someone was breaking into his home and accidentally fired his 12-gauge shotgun.
Case closed. Yet racist will still cry racism.
Some drunk and drugged person tries to enter your home at 3 in the morning? Yeah. They getting dead.
