no ones having a go at the p4EE, there just laying down the facts: its overpriced in comparison to the power it offers. BIG TIME!!
and,heres one for ya: when intel reles the 6xx series ( p4ee under diffrent name - 2meg cache ) do you think they will charge a premium for that, or will it be much more moderatly priced part as its not called Extremly Expensive!!! ( and looks like it will be more mainstream ).

Oh, and before i get accused of bieng a AMD Fan Boy - ( which of course i am ), ill agree that the fx-53 is also just as guilty as the EE of bieng superflouse and overpriced, but, to AMD's - and every one not called felix's credit, yes, the unlocked mulipliers r a bonus

what would intrest me is how well felix's EE would go against my 3200+ clawhammer @ 2.5GHz......... ( which cost me £140 )

Well, since you are running only 100 mhz below the new 4000+, and 100 over the 3800+, I would guess 3900+, whcih means in games at least your would beat Felix's match in theory, since at the same rated speed, the Athlon64 wins out against the P4 and EE. But it is senseless to argue that with Felix, he would just call you a troll like us.

I love AMD. I think there great, personally i hate intel, and i say that without question or remourse.

That said im also fair. I dont mind admiting that when it comes to photoshop and encoding with some codecs, the p4 does come out better than any of the k8's. I also dont mind admiting that Hyperthreading is a very trick piece of kit. But then i have to admit that ( in true happy fan boy sense ) that the k8 is very strong in games. Its also very strong in linux kernal compiling and many other things the k8 has a lead over intels best.

but come on felix, be a man and admit this, and we'll respect you a lot more: yes, your happy with your EE, yes, its a prestigiouse chip, yes it sounds really good to tell your friends, and yes, its very fast. but YES a p4 560 is cheaper, more desirable and and faster and, more importantly, delivers far more for your £'ssss. That coupled with the fact, if you want a pc for bragging rights, surley the p4 560's lga-775 pakage, pci-e and ddr2 marchitecture sound a lot more impressive to your friends ( if thats what gets u going). I know from the rig that i have got, i would be a lot more " jelouse " of someone who had a fully loaded 560/ddr2/pci-e rig than a p4-ee/i875/ddr400 rig, as there the cutting edge tech, and, IMHO, thats far more impressive than paying twice the price for a cpu thats not as quick, runs older tech and a northwood core but has 2 meg of cache. dont forget you could prolly get a i915 mob and half of the ddr2 for your system with the diff between the 560 and the EE.

yeah, tom just posts tons of synthetic benchmarks that a) are chosen to perform better on intel systems than on amd, and 2) show the same thing over and over whenever intel wins, he just picks a lot of similar benchmarks and posts them, and when amd wins, there is one benckhmark
