Does anyone know where to get shop wipes? I mean, real shop wipes

All the stuff I see at Lowes or Home Depot nowadays feel more like regular paper towels (i.e., thick and very padded).

Shop wipes are distinct in that they don't shed lint.

Scott's Rags? They're expensive at $20 for 300.

I use worn out cotten tee shirts.

I like Otis brand, but they can be expensive

If i bought a kit it would be otis. They have some nice options.

But look at what really comes in the kit and see if its even what youd need/use. I found it cheaper to just buy individual pieces as i found a lot of kits had either generic multi caliber tools or they had lots of stuff i wouldnt need to use.

But thats just me i know a few people who have kits and like them just fine

Or old jeans.

I use those microfiber car wash towels. Walmart has 12 packs for like 8 bucks. I just use them till they get dirty then just toss them in the washer and they come out clean again

Well, I think I've finally decided on my next purchase. 1873 Winchester. Getting excited just thinking about saving for one (reproduction).

Can anyone, uh, show me a picture of a barrel bushing? Extra points if its on an SP-01. :awe: The cz guys say to lube it, and I know I've asked what it is here, but I still don't think I get it. 😳

Thanks a lot. Srsly. 😳

i thought you already asked that before and someone did post it and you replied to it?

Went to the range today!! OMG I am a fucking awful shot.

Theres a reason everyone says to go to the range as much as you can. Even with new guns for me the first few shots are often a bit wild. But practice the basics and youll get better in time. Having an instructor watch you can be pretty beneficial as well to point out things you are doing wrong and give pointer.

For self defense its 1 minute of person is all the accuracy you need 🙂

are there any shops that tend to have good deals on ammo (9mm)?
Sportsman's Guide is my favorite place to order ammo. Join their buyer's club for $30/year and you get 5% off all ammo orders.

I just ordered 1000 rounds of Wolf Military Classic 7.62x39 JHP for ~$200 shipped. AK-47s were built for steel-cased ammo and that's about $50 less per case than most other outfits.

You can get 1000 rounds of Speer Lawman 9mm 115gr FMJ for ~$210 shipped from SG. Speer is about as premium as you'll get for target practice ammo. I usually just pick up Federal 9mm 115gr FMJ from Walmart; 100 rounds for $20.

Yes, the long reset on the CZ is probably my only complaint on an otherwise excellent factory trigger. The rest is very long, the click is audible without ears but hard to feel.

Like I said previously, I though the Glock 17 had less felt recoil than the SP01, despite what everyone says about the SP01 having low felt recoil due to low bore axis and high mass.

TBH, for precision shooting, the stock night sights on that CZ are not good. The front sight blocks a quarter-sized dot at 5 yards, I could not hit it for the life of me. They are combat/self-defense sights.

So, here are some observations:

  • I couldnt hit ANYTHING with it! Well, i hit stuff, but thats bound to happen after 150ish shots, lol.
  • I am left eye dominant, but slowly got the hang of using my right eye which helps since i'm right handed.

  • This video is a decent starting point if you don't have anyone to show you how do use a decent grip.

    Todd Jarrett

Make sure you're focus is on your sights, the target will be a little blurry. One way to help train your right eye is to put some scotch tape over the left side of your eye protection.

Don't worry about shooting plates at 50 yds out. Start at like 15yds.

So, here are some observations:

  • The gun ran perfect except for the second shot, where it failed to feed the bullet (or something). It was an intact round that was stuck in the ejection port. Had a little dent in the casing, but fired fine later (was it stupid of me to have fired a slightly dented round?). Maybe it just needed breaking in? I dunno.
  • I thought this heavy 9mm would have recoil like a .22. This was not the case, it actually seemed pretty near the Glock 22 (.40) in terms of recoil, and not anywhere near the Ruger SR22 (.22). Well, i guess thats not true. I felt like the Glock was breaking my thumb lol. So maybe in between the glock and ruger.
  • I couldnt hit ANYTHING with it! Well, i hit stuff, but thats bound to happen after 150ish shots, lol.
  • I like how it holds like 19+1, but also after so many shots (maybe 15?), it gets kind of hard to focus on the sights.
  • I'm gonna convert to SAO, as I dont think I'll ever use DA mode.
  • I am amazed at the short reset on the glock trigger.
  • I loved (loved) the .22 Henry Goldenboy.
  • It gets much harder to shoot accurately when it starts to get dark out. It was cool how the tritium night sights started "glowing" as it got darker.
  • I like the smell of gunpowder, it smells like fireworks.
  • After I shot the first bullet I felt like I had just awoken Frankenstein.
  • I need to get a uplula loader or whatever.
  • The gun didnt get too dirty after the range, i didnt even have to use the brush, just some patches and weapon shield. Carbon gets fucking everywhere.
  • There was no one else at the range (well, one guy for a few minutes), it was really nice.
  • I couldnt hit the little gong that I think was 75-100 yards (couldve been even more, i dunno) at all with the CZ, and only a couple times with the goldenboy.
  • I couldnt survive in a shootout.
  • I am left eye dominant, but slowly got the hang of using my right eye which helps since i'm right handed.
  • The CZ feels perfectly balanced, much better than the glock. It's way more comfortable than the glock.
  • Seeing target past like 20 yards is kind of hard, even with good vision. At least i think it was that far (25 yards?) but for some reason the range didnt label the distances.
  • I am definitely getting some steel targets and shooting them in the bays.
  • I'm glad I wore both over ear and in ear hearing protection, after a few shots my ears start getting irritated.
  • Its cool how the yellow eye protection makes everything seem brighter.
  • I hate it when the eye protection gets dirty, fucks my shooting up.
  • OMG the glock ejects rounds so far away, its obnoxious. That shit kept hitting me when my brother in law was shooting. The CZ seemed to eject rounds in a much less annoying fashion.
  • I need to buy some personal protection ammo.

  • I need to find the correct sight picture for this gun, I think its #2 shown here:
    sightimages.jpg

That is all for now.

Dude I've been shooting for years and I wouldn't be confident hitting a 70 yard target with a pistol. Pistols are meant for 25 yards or less, and you're most likely to use them at 10 feet or less.
