What .22s do you guys like? I can get the well reviewed Kadet kit for my SP-01, but I'd rather have a separate gun.

Ruger Mark whatever is out now or Browning Buckmark are usually the most recommended.

If you like 1911s, I hear the GSG .22 1911 is pretty good.

You could always go with a .22 revolver also.

I have:
Browning Buckmark - awesome
Ruger Single Six - awesome
Colt Trooper - awesome
also have a .22 conversion for 1911 but I haven't used it very much. I'll have 3 1911s soon so I might make one sort of a dedicated .22

The ruger mkiii is highly recommended. Same with the buckmark.

My dad has the m&p 22 and it is nice. No ammo problems with what we've put through it.

I have a newer Sig mosquito and have had the same experience as the m%p...no issues.

For a recommendation though you can't beat the ruger. Tons of mods and accessories available. Cheap mags to if I'm not mistaken?

So you like your Single Six hey? I'm kinda torn between that (or a Single Ten) and a Browning Buckmark (or Mark II/III I guess too).

I haven't shot it as much as I should, but it's definitely a fun and cool gun. I got it back when I was in a cowboy kind of mood, lol.

So when I use this CLP stuff, I use very little, right? Like, i just put a couple little drops of oil on each part I wanted to wipe off/protect. Overall I used a really small amount. For the barrel i just put a few drops in there, a few drops on a patch, and ran it through a couple times. All seems ok so far.

doesn't it have instructions? but yes, you only need a small amount.

I'd say go for "thin coating" as opposed to "a couple of drops". Metal on metal is where it's needed, but if it gets on other parts of the gun it certainly won't hurt. For the barrel I just use patches soaked with CLP, but the CLP by itself couldn't hurt.

Since I only shoot maybe once per week at best, I also leave a very thin coating on all external metal surfaces for preservation, but that's just me.

You should probably get the kit. The kit only takes a few seconds to swap, it's the exact same procedure as taking the 9mm slide off and putting it back. It's really good to have the exact same grip and trigger on your 9mm and your .22, and convenient that they fit in the same holster. Even the magazines fit in the same magazine holsters.

The ultimate two-gun solution is to get the Kadet kit installed on a separate SP-01 frame. In hindsight this might have been a good idea for me, because I occasionally teach someone to shoot, and separate guns would be useful in that. But for equivalent quality it wouldn't have been enough to buy the frame; I would also have had to pay to get the second frame tuned like my Shadow.

You can also get a full gun Kadet. Cheaper than kit and a new SP-01 frame, but is built more like the plain CZ75.

Waiting for my order from LaRue to show up: just got my TA31RCO-M150 scope from Trijicon, and I'm getting a quick detach mount for it, a surefire muzzle brake and a new grip (comparing to to this one.)

I need to pick up a flashlight too. I'm thinking of a TLR-1 with the pressure switch (and cap needed for it) because I can't stomach paying for a Surefire Scout light. Any thoughts from people?

nice setup! Ive shot a buddies with the ACOG (believe it was same model) and the larue QD. Nice setup for sure!

youll pony up 1k+ on an ACOG then complain about a 300 dollar light :) The TLR-1's are pretty nice though and ive been looking at getting on myself.

Either way awesome setup youll be getting! Im just to cheap to toss that much into optics (im more of a ~500 max guy haha)

Well damn, I'm trying to sell an ACOG RCOA4. SF scouts can be had for around $200 NIB if you can live without the pressure switch.

Meanwhile, ordered an SR15 IWS lower and will be starting an AR15 build from it! 14.5" pinned to 16" with an SF brake!

Problem with the A4 is that it's meant for the Marine's M16s, using a 20" barrel. I believe the M150 is meant for a 16" barrel.

Are the scouts you see for $200 using a gas bulb, or LED?

Probably late news to some but just read that the Dan Wesson plant had a fire and is going to be out of commission for at least the remainder of the year. So anyone who needed DW parts or wanted a gun better snatch em up now or face waiting awhile :)

http://www.wbng.com/news/video/Fire-at-Dan-Wesson-179336271.html

I believe they had already been backordered for a long time.

I hadnt paid to much attention to them to be honest. I just know RampantAndroid loves his. I saw one or two at the LGS last time i was there (while ago to be honest).

Still sucks i hate seeing any business suffer like that. Although i have heard rumors (and they are rumors) CZ is going to expand and make more gun models in the states since they can update the factory.
