What's the big deal about tabbed browsing??? It effectively just moves the "tabs" from the taskbar to the top of the browser window.

Mouse Gestures were pretty cool, until I got a five button mouse.

Who cares?

Fine, I still use it. But my primary is FF and Safari. For IE7: Tabs, pop-up blocker like ad-blocker, option to turn off auto install.
 
I don't understand why everyone here practically wets themself over FF. I don't see the big deal about tabbed browsing. Is it really that much trouble to open a new IE window and click on the toolbar? One cool thing about FF was the mouse gestures, i'll give you that. But it loads so much slower than IE on my computer it was so aggrivating and the plugins were irritating because alot of them never worked. I'll stick with IE, thanks.

I realize that... But those two features have been brought up several times in this thread.

I can understand the security concerns people have with IE (even though as Amused pointed out, your settings can take care of 99% of those concerns.) Even still, the fact that FF is more secure has less to do with the spectacular browser and more to do with the fact that hackers aren't spending their hours trying to break an application that has practically no market share.

I used FF for a short while... Found it had problems opening certain sites or using certain site features (i.e. ESPN Motion) and couldn't figure out a benefit that was worth the problems.

Try Opera. Faster than FF, tons and tons of features built-in. Faster browsing. No need for any extensions so you never have to worry about that.

I don't forsee myself ever switching back. IE7 would have to offer tabbed browsing, an equally robust extension and search toolbar addon database, and support the latest Cascading Style Sheet spec in its entireity.

The only additional thing I can think of at the moment that I want from Firefox is lower memory usage, and it doesn't really bother me since I have 1gb of RAM.

I couldn't care less which browser I use. As long as it works and i do not have to worry about security. Currently, IE has lots of security holes, but that is because it is the most popular browser there is. Firefox is alright, but sometimes i get pages where it just displays the html code. As for tabbed browsing, I use it occasionally, but i can live without it.

Congratulations, I'm sure all those hundredths of a second you save using FireFox give you plenty of time to do lots of useful stuff...like posting screenshots of FireFox opening webpages hudredths of a second faster. 😛
 
If it were just like Maxthon, I have no issues with IE it's just that Maxthon has options that I like more.

Actually I was able to consolidate my debt, reply to an e-mail from a couple of naughty school girls who want to show me something, AND increase my penis size by 25% in the time I've saved today alone. 😀

Seriously though... my point wasn't to say IE suxxors and FF roxxors... just adding my experience to this mess. 🙂
 
Better security, tabbed browsing, and most important of all, a browser to operate tab closing effectively. (When you close a tab, switch to the next tab to the right, or if you close the tab all the way on the right, switch to the next on the left.
 
What do you mean no extensions in Opera? Do they not allow independant groups to make add-ons? Doesn't sound as good.
 
I used FF everyone once in a while on my last windows install. Since my reinstall 9 months or so ago I have never bother to reinstall it, I was not impressed.

IE for me, though I HAVE had spyware before. This was fixed by no more browsing of "questionable" software downloading sites.
