People seem to forget that Negan is a friggin comic book villain. He's supposed to be this over the top!

People seem to forget that this isn't a comic book, it's a TV series. What works on the page doesn't necessarily work when that much scenery chewing is involved. The other characters have been turned 3-dimensional to play better on TV, they should try doing the same with Negan.

The disembowelment scene was so stupid and fake. Poke in-shape Spencer's stomach (who probably has a rock hard six pack) with a knife and suddenly his guts come pouring out like wet garbage from a cheap plastic bag. I swear you could sneeze on this people and they're probably explode.

It seemed like a seppuku motion to me, stab/turn/slice.

I know 2 people died but man that mid season finale still felt very anti climatic

please tell me you seriously believe that someone having a "rock hard six pack" affects how their guts spill out when stabbed.

I'd like to know too

Like does he really think well toned muscles resist a sharp knife or something?

Wow...2 episodes into the second half of season 7 and no posts. Understandable, though, because both episodes could be summed up in about 10 minutes of non-dragged out programing.

Yeah this season is a snoozer so far. I'm really interested in seeing their viewership ratings for this season. I know a lot of people that watch the show and all of them have told me that they are losing interest and excitement over the show as a whole. Most mention the over the top Negan along with Ezekiel and his lion as 2 main points of contention.

that's so funny...this season is the most interesting in many seasons to me. Clearly the normal audience is wrong and has bad taste :)

I don't think the first two episodes were bad at all. This half-season was destined to be the scattered tribes finding common ground and uniting to fight the Saviors in the season finale cliffhanger. That's happening. For the first time in a while the main characters are actually acting rationally and building towards something.

If the excesses of the past couple of seasons, the episodes that went nowhere, the dead-end story arcs, the gratuitous ultra-violence and the pure idiocy of Negan and the King's pet tiger were what was killing the show (and I completely agree that they were) this is a return to form.

First two episodes I'm liking so far. Promo for next episode looks like a return to the first half so not looking forward.

A return to Tara's adventure in the first half seems unavoidable at this point.

Rick fighting the buffed zombie with the spikes was stupid.

Overall, it's been meh.

I didn't get what they were going for....it was all Road Warrior and Thunderdome feeling, it hasn't been THAT long that they forget how to talk....

According to the comics, which the show doesn't always follows, but the main plot it does stick fairly closely with... This season is basically this.

Find the scattered "tribes", unite them, then fight the Saviors and Neegan at the end. Then it's a period of peace for awhile until the Alpha's show up.

Sounds like nothing has changed since I stopped watching it midway through season 4.

Yeah I'm cool.

Yeah i didnt get that new group. What their purpose was? do they know the Saviors? Why join Rick on a whim? etc. Or i missed some important diaglog along the way somewhere.

Cheap manpower? They've spent a lot of time building up the Saviors as being a huge unstoppable force like the Star Wars Empire or even worse, Apple. The main group, Hilltop, the Kingdom and that lesbian group didn't seem all that daunting even when united. Toss in a couple of new groups that nobody really cares about in the long run, use them to pad out the numbers and then kill them off in the big battle.

Is it me or this season may be the worse season because of the unrealistic elements and scenes?

For the most part, the Saviors ARE unbeatable in terms of manpower and resources even in the comics. It takes a bit of luck and work by carl of all people to change things.

I know that Alpha is the female bald chick leader. I just forgot the name of the stupid group off the top of my head and just remembered the derpy name of the chick. It's fine.
