90% of which are worthless crap. Ubisoft and other 3rd parties did so poorly during the holidays that they blamed nintendo for not supporting 3rd parties enough. They failed to recognize that crap will not sell no matter how well it's supported.

1) How have most people adapted to the controller, I know its different than past traditional controllers and I am a big fan of the PS2 controller.
2) How are the current games out right now compared to the PS3? How does Madden look? Does it play just as well on the Wii? Does the Wii controller make the game any less fun?
3) Is Nintendo going to start coming out with adult(and by adult I mean fighting, FPS, and others) type games?
4) Are there ANY disadvantages or issues with owning a Wii?

Thanks guys!

1) I think the controller is great. It's the most comfortable controller I've ever used for one simple reason - it doesn't force your hands into a particular position. They can move independently of each other. I don't think there's anything particularly good about the PS2 controller, other than that it is used to play PS2 games. The Xbox S and Gamecube controllers are much more comfortable and well-designed controllers IMO.

The Wii Remote is the only controller I've ever liked for playing FPSes on consoles. I can't stand dual analog sticks for FPSes.

2) Gamespot rated Madden for Wii .5 higher than for the other systems because of the way it used the Wii remote. The controller does not make games less fun, it makes them more fun.

3) Nintendo? Probably not. But they are encouraging 3rd party developers to develop more mature games for the Wii. They want to shed the image of being for kids only. I'd expect Nintendo to continue developing the same types of games they've always developed - games that are fun for all ages.

Regarding fighting and FPS though - I don't care much for fighting games, but Super Smash Bros is supposed to be a great fighting game. And I don't like futuristic FPSes, but Metroid Prime is supposed to be really good. So there you go. Don't discount SSB because of its graphical style and characters. People get hung up on stupid stuff like that and miss out on games they would otherwise enjoy.

4) No online games yet. :( No HD resolutions if you care about that. The graphics will obviously not approach what the Xbox 360 and PS3 can do - but graphics don't make a game.

i'm not sure what you mean about the controller making games more fun instead of less fun. if i can't control my character or whatever, i'm not gonna have much fun.

for example, CoD3 for the Wii - I've heard that the controls for it are too sensitive and make your character spin around. if i'm constantly dying because my character is spinning in circles, i'm not having fun.

if it works properly, yeah, it can make the game better, but if it doesn't, it sure will make it worse.

I love my Wii but I also love my PS3. The controls on the Wii are fun but I really see the Wii as my console for party environment. When I am by myself, I tend to use my PS3 much more.

It still amazes me that everyone is still "omg i love the wii". I was very open to the idea before it came out...i kept an open mind on all consoles until I gave them a fair test. Ive played them all and the Wii is boring as hell! Oh joy I get to fling my arm around to do simple motions. You mean I get to play tennis and not control the units!? AWESOME! People keep saying the control is such a innovative way to play a game and its just amazing! Its a damn location and motion sensor! Ive played zelda on both consoles and having to swing your hand around to swing annoys the heck out of me! The controller will not lend well to a lot of games and then its just a underpowered system with the same control scheme. TRUE there will be some fun games that come out that are really one of a kind and will be a lot of fun...but I dont think its the system that it should be.

I love Nintendo and I love mario and super smash brothers..but I am very disappointed in this system. I know graphics dont make the games..but COME ON look at far cry and COD3..its just sad.

XBOX360 is owning and taking names in the actual good and fun game department!

I have CoD3. It doesn't beat a keyboard and mouse, and it takes a little time to get used to, but it's the best way to control a FPS that I've ever experienced on a console.

You're right, the Wii is boring as hell. News Channel? Forecast Channel? Everyone Votes Channel? Boring, boring boring. Now the games, those are fun. ;) It amazes me when someone calls a console boring. It's the games that are fun or not fun.

"You mean I get to play tennis and not control the units!? AWESOME!"

Wii Sports was never intended to be a full-fledged game. It's basically a tech demo. It's a pack-in game. Turned out to be a lot of fun and very popular. Expect to see a more full-featured tennis game in the future. Mario Power Tennis for the Gamecube was amazingly fun, and there will undoubtedly be a Wii version. If you can't handle the cartoonish graphics, some third party will surely develop a licensed, realistic tennis game.

Zelda - you don't have to swing your arm at all, you can just flick your wrist.

Xbox 360 looks great though, I look forward to getting one myself soon - probably shortly after a hardware revision.

I think the FPS controller thing has potential. I don't understand why that implement it the way they do. Currently you look to the side or up or down by moving the cursor. Why dont they just let the cursor stay in the middle and when you look around you move the whole screen. While I obviously havent seen this in action to say it in full confidence but I imagine that it would be a hell of a lot better....maybe make it so you can choose between the two.

I think that might be too twitchy.

With Wii game rentals costing $8, I think I'll just go by reviews. I know I like golf games, and from what I've read the controls are similar to Wii Sports Golf. I'm sure I'll like it.

This week's virtual console games: Tecmo Bowl, Sonic Spinball, and Double Dungeons.

I'm still waiting for Tecmo Super Bowl. Much better than tecmo bowl.

A quick Wii question, can I make my Canadian Mii appear in a Wii in Japan? I have the name and ID already yet nothing happens.

The whole, you have to fling around your arms argument is a poor one at best, because anyone with a Wii knows a slight flick of the wrist also works. You obviously don't own one, and sounds like you didn't give it much of a chance. If the control schemes are so weak why did the Wii Madden outscore both the PS3 and 360 versions?

And the only department the 360 owns is the redundancy department, FPS, FPS, FPS, mediocre game, FPS, FPS.

Did both of you add each other? It takes some time for the Miis to wander. You can also send one attached to an e-mail.

It's not sounding bad according to the reviews, the big hits are graphics (obviously) and no online.

Supposed to have been done, at least on my side it is... I guess the other side hasn't added me since I can't send them a message yet...

Neither of those would bother me too much since I don't care about the graphics and I probably wouldn't play a golf game online anyway.

What does worry me is that apparently there is no swing meter. That seems frustrating. The Wii Sports way is really good I think.
