OK, I officially like Tiger Woods Golf. It's REALLY frustrating though.

I bought it, and I like it. But what am I doing wrong if I keep prematurely swinging? I pull back, and then he hits ~50% before I can swing forward.

What I do is to swing backwards and hold it for a second until the character has fully backswung, and then swing forward. I usually get 92-105% and straight forward as well with a bit of practice.

I have found that not bringing it up past your shoulder really helps. I bring it back slowly to about mid-chest and then rip it forward. Once I got the hang of it, the 50% swing issue went away. I have also somewhat gotten the hang of hooking and slicing to the point where I can usually nullify wind.

Yeah I've gotten the hang of it pretty well. I still can't chip worth a damn. Do you have to do something differently from a normal swing? There's no tutorial for chipping. If I end up in the rough near the green, it usually takes me about 3 shots to get it out. :(

I don't like to chip. I find flopping to be better suited to my style because I can control the spin better. When I do chip, I make sure to crush it though. Anything less than 100% seems to just bounce in the rough which I assume has something to do with the lie.

Does anyone else find syncing the remotes to be a huge PITA? A couple rare times (literally twice), I've had to unplug the power to the Wii to get the first remote to sync. When I play a game that's multiplayer, sometimes when you do reconnect (or connecting in wii sports), it takes 3-4 tries before I can get anything, even after trying to hit the re-sync buttons.

Other than the gamespy online announcement, this is my biggest complaint right now. Very frustrating sometimes.

Lack of HD is a tad disappointing. Altho, I think it's more of the fact I haven't seen a proper upscaled connection. All I've seen is a direct connection of component to a westinghouse 42"er and composite to a 42" Bravia.

That and the fact that my Wii keeps overheating, making it not read disks properly(fscked up graphics) and really messed up on screen movement. But what we all need is MORE GAMES!!! COME ON NINTENDO!!!!!!!!!!! :|:|:| Don't make me sick the Angry Nintendo Nerd on you!

I haven't had any overheating problems (it does seem to get kinda warm though)... but now that you mention discs... SSX Blur really goes at it on my Wii... but not on my friend's?! It's a little concerning.

And one more issue... it's not major because I barely use it, but why does it take so long to load up and connect to online things (news/weather/opera)? It doesn't seem to bode too well for homebrew.... but I hope I'm wrong. I want to see two things, dvd playback, and more importantly, being able to stream my stuff from network storage. Yes, I know the wii is a gaming machine, but that ability sure would be nifty for me.

Flopping instead of chipping completely solved my problem. :Q I actually shot a round under par and made the cut in a tournament finally. :D

I've found that it doesn't work as well as it should, but I haven't had to go that far.

Do you have it on a hard, flat surface? I had mine sitting on carpet initially, and it blocked the vents on the bottom (horizontally) and caused it to get hot. If you have it vertical, you NEED to use the stand to prevent blocking the vents, and the stand also must be on a hard, flat surface to allow air to flow underneath it (if you look on the bottom of the stand, it actually sits maybe a millimeter off the surface).

No, I have it in the cradle on my TV stand. It also overheated at my friends house when we put it on a cold hard surface. It works though!

Keep an eye out for the "sparkles" problem (white specks on the display). Once that happens, your system definitely needs to be replaced.

Damn, I was actually looking forward to Cooking mamma. Most of my female friends couldn't stop talking about it on the DS. Too bad the reviews aren't that great, maybe I'll rent it.

I tried installing my Wiikey yesterday and it was a bust. I ended up pulling up one of the pads on a small solder point, so I just took it to a professional installer in the area. Hopefully all will be well tomorrow and I'll let you know if this chip is any good.

Im having a blast with TW as well, but I find the instruction manual to be the biggest piece of garbage in the universe, and the instructions on how to use the UI is sorely lacking.

The Godfather seems to be really good, besides the "graphic issues"(poor Wii :().

I thought that would hinder me in NFS:Carbon but while your playing the game it didnt bother me. No Gamestop or Gamecrazy near me has either of these games in stock GRR

I haven't even opened the manual

I have mastered getting 110% shots. You need to flick your wrist at the end of your stroke. You have to be careful, however, as it's a lot easier to hook and slice.

I've played both on Xbox, and I liked them. Granted I haven't played many flying games on consoles, but I really liked the dual analog stick controls on the Xbox. Not sure how well it'll work on the Wii, or what control style they'll use? It'd be cool if they used the analog stick as the throttle and rudder and the Wii Remote (held vertically) as the "stick" (what do you call the thing that makes a plane tilt? ).

Godfather is a GTA type game. It got a little repetitive, so I never actually finished it.

Well my install went well and everything works as it should. The chip is upgradeable via DVD as well so I'm set for any issues that may arise. If you are planning on getting a chip, I recommend the Wiikey.
