I'm originally from the UK and have lived in the US for the last 13 years. Best points for both:

US: Weather (Phoenix, AZ), women who love my accent.
UK: Pubs, Indian Restaurants.
Holy crap, if you ever move away from Phoenix, Arizona, you'd think you've just escaped from the third world.

LOL.

You idiots can fight it out for second place. Australia is unarguably the best place in the world to live.

Not exactly sure the nation full of some of the most racist people I've ever met is exactly "the best place in the world to live." Don't even tell me it's stereotypical too. I have known a LOT of Australians and the majority of them would have fit right in with the Klan. Canada on the other hand is quite lovely even if they owe the world an apology for that atrocious opening ceremony they put on for the Winter Olympics.

The English are known for their Ales, and particularly their cask ales.

plenty of fine beers come out of England. Don't hate on a very, very important and worthwhile contribution to humanity.

They gave us all of them, including Pale and India Pale Ale.

Mmm me likes IPAs.

Never having been to the UK (except as a layover a few times) I would love to have some of their class of pubs around here (Seattle). We have good pubs with great pub grub but from everyone I have talked to the English pubs are in a whole different league. We already have their same weather so why not some good pubs?!?! Some year I'll get my butt over there and spend a few weeks. Heck, I may even end up developing a taste for beer!

well, the real truth of this is is right here:

Ray Charles > everything British.

Ray Charles is American

Therefore,

America > England.

:awe:

well, fuck. Ray Charles > just about anything, anyone, and anywhere so...this is hardly fair.

Sucks that peons gotta hate on the country that gave the world Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Al Greene, Sam Cooke, and as one would naturally assume the proper progression: Lady Gaga--but it just sucks to be number 2+, I guess. :\

I'm sorry, but there is no comparison.

Britain is a country overrun by self shame, political correctness, high taxes, high unemployment, hatred for the rich and successful, and self entitlement.

The United States has a lot of problems, but at least you can be who you want to be here, for the most part. You can defend yourself. You can be successful and get respected for it. We have a huge choice of climates and lifestyles a person can live, from rural farmland to Las Vegas or New York, we have it all.

And Canada, don't get me fucking started on Canada.

The UK is obviously better. You can live there and be legally classified as a peasant. God bless the Queen. And only the Queen!
