What is there to know? If you want a proper US beer, get one that is brewed under licence from a UK company and you'll get at least a decent beer, not as good as the original, but decent.

I'm mainly joshing but if it's not Guinness, it's not worth the hassle of increased urination.

Well I actually shouldn't come down that hard on you since you have no idea of the micro-brew culture here in the States.

I've had real ale at a number of pubs in the UK. There's lots of stuff in North America of comparable quality (e.g. any of Unibroue's ales.)
