BTW sorry I took so long to reply Assimilator1. I actually typed out an answer to you like 3 times this past Saturday but my new computer refused to cooperate(kept losing signal on the monitor so I'm RMA'ing my vid card). The best places that I know of to farm in NF are Zehlon Reach and Moddok Crevice for Colossal Scimitars(they aren't worth that much nowadays but they're still cool looking) or Fahranur, the First City. You can also farm some in Plains of Jarin and get some ranger tomes and what not. You can also do some decent farming in the Desolation when you're in the wurms. Past those spots.......I don't really farm all that much. People always talk about "finding your own spots" and I guess that's a good idea. Farming in Factions is something I haven't done much of so I can't really comment too much on that. Prophecies has some decent farming spots such as the Falls for Totem Axes or maybe even the Desert for Kephket's Refuge. Totem Axes go for 4-5k each usually and you *might* get that much out of a Kephket's.......but I'm not sure about that. As far as farming goes, the most popular spot is outside of Rata Sum in the Raptor Nestling cave. That is the most popular HANDS DOWN. Everytime there is an event that gives some sort of drop (Easter, St. Patrick's Day, Thanksgiving, Wintersday, etc) people WEAR those poor things out.
However, I'm going to share something with all of you that I think *might* be useful. If you REALLY want to make money, I'll tell you how to do it. You need to start NOW though. This is not a quick thing and it will take some time. During Wintersday there are always collectors. They collect various items and usually trade them for alcohol or sweets. Lots of people like to work on the sweet tooth or drunk title so these items command a premium price. We're talking around 35-40k per STACK of 250. Among these collector items are Singed Gargoyle Skulls and Charr Carvings(not Superb but regular). There are others but these are some of the main ones. The Singed Gargoyle Skulls can easily be farmed outside of Nolani Academy. Charr Carvings can be farmed in various places but the end of the Great Northern Wall mission has LOTS of Charr as do the Diessa Lowlands area. So...do you see where I'm going with this? Do a couple of runs every day and start accumulating some of these items and start storing them up. When Wintersday comes along, I doubt that the collectors will change as they haven't in at least the last 2 years and maybe not in the whole time the game has been out. The Dev team is still working on GW2 so I suspect that they won't bother to change things very much. Even if you only manage to scrounge up 2 stacks of Skulls and Charr Carvings(which is very doable and also VERY boring), you're looking at somewhere in the vicinity or 130-140k just for those 4 stacks of items. That's EASY money and while boring and tedious.....it's not hard to do at all.
