But yeah, Mindbender + Air of Superiority make for fun times as an Ele.

Factions? Doh! This is why I don't post much when I've taken my Ambien. I meant Eye of the North. I'm seriously considering trading in my book to get Asura points, but I'm so close to finsih EotN that it makes more sense to keep it til I'm finished.

I think that you get more rep points if you turn in the full book, so it's worth waiting till it's full. We finished EotN late last night, so now I just need to save up a bunch of plat so I can get some armor heh. From the sounds of it, we're either going to go to Nightfall now, or maybe do all the secondary EotN skill quests. Either way, I think I'll be playing a fair bit for a while.

We were all new and slow at some point. That's not a problem. Part of getting help is learning more about the game including builds, skills, armor, weapons, etc. The skills will get better as you go along but they can be kind of limiting at first. Which games do you have?

I have game of the year edition of prophecies. I started with a simple warrior because I figured that would be an easy way to learn the game though it is tempting to make an enchanter. Oddly my little warrior can't bash.

Which weapon are you using? Sword? Axe? Hammer? If you need a sword, I have a green non-max sword that will work well for a low level warrior. Just let me know if you'd like it. :)

Dungeons / FoW / Underworld / farm charr carvings for the Halloween and Wintersday events?

Also, did you do the secondary quests for the skills? There are some nutso good PvE skills from all the factions in EotN.

I just purchased my very first set of prestige armor - Deldrimor :) Hooray for me!

wowza, new AT GW thread.

too bad the last one crash and burned :(

Man, I'm so burned out of this...officially ran out of things to do a few months ago.

Still like the game, from time to time, but don't grind out the farming like I used to.

anyone wants to hit me up in-game you're still free to. main characters:

zinfamous son of zi

or

lique my fire (i have tons more....but i'll be on those most of the time)

not on as much as I used to be, but we'll see. grind got old after the 5th or so character through GWEN, and yet another 100k armor set. le sigh....

I'm too invested in current guild to leave it, otherwise if you guys had come on earlier...you could have joined a previous "AT Guild," though I had to abandon it....It was nice while it lasted. I think I left it in the hands of an ATer, actually...hmmm.

by the way...as a lot of you in this thread seem like relative noobs to GW, I have a stash of max, nice bows and various other weapons, items, BS that I just don't need anymore.

add my in-game name and PM me if you see my online and are in need of something. Chances are, I got something you could use more than I.

Thx for your replie jcwagers :)

I don't have Factions atm so no probs there, nor do I have EoN yet (I want to finish NF 1st).
Where on earth is Rata Sum?? lol.
Btw I'm primarily interested in farming for getting good weaps to use, don't care if it's pretty;).
Interesting about the skull & carving collecting, if I do that I will likely do only 1 stack, I'm not that bothered about having huge amounts of cash, but thanks again for the info :)......hmm maybe I need to get you to look at some of my builds?:D

I just started playing again. In game name is "Cylune Riftborne" I believe. Been doing some questing in EotN with some clanmates, then Nightfall after that. We're also going to be doing some dungeon runs later tonight I think.
If you can confirm your IGN is correct I'll add it to the list:thumbsup:

Good to see you join GWs :), what country are you in?

Yeah I was reading this thread and thinking the exact same thing. Either they are nubs or I spent WAYYY too much time playing GW =P.

Assimilator, what kind of weapons are you looking for? Weapons for you? Weapons for your heroes? I use a variety of things on my heroes but I'm starting to think that some of the collector items are the best for them. This is especially true for necro heroes and monk heroes as well. There are several collectors in EotN that have some very nice collector weapons(I usually keep some of the collector items onhand so if you need something I can try to get it for you). There are some nice +15/-1 energy regen wands. This is a nonissue with necros since they have high soul reaping to make up for the loss of 1 pip of energy regen. The monk collector weapons can be a bit more daunting. I'd say you'll ideally want something with at least 10 energy and if you can find it.....maybe 15 or more(20 is max unless you get one of the +15/-1 staves which will give you a total of +27 energy). Also, if you can find it, a 20% longer enchant is very nice on protection prayers skills such as Protective Spirit or Aegis. That's where a good wand and offhand come into play. Healing spells usually recharge pretty fast but some of the protection spells have decently lengthy recharges. The highest you can get on skill recharge is a double 20%(one on wand and one on offhand) but the total percentage is apparently capped at 36% even with both. I know it should be 40% but for some reason it isn't. :S Also, there are several nice green healing and prot staves. The Scar Eater is a pretty nice staff for a healing monk and gives a nice boost in hp (+60). Kephket's Refuge is a GREAT prot staff with +15 energy and 20% longer enchants. Scar Eaters are usually overfarmed and so they sell for around 1k or so. the Kephket's might be a bit more expensive but it can be bought for not a great deal more. The Yakslapper(yes, that's actually its name.....hilariously enough) is another great staff for healing. It has 15 energy and 20% enchants as well. I didn't actually mean for this to be a long drawn out post about weapons but it turned out to be one. The best way to find good collector weapons is to hit guildwiki and look up collectors. They will have them for each campaign and all of the stats on them. If I'm online, I'll try to look stuff up for anyone, if they need it. :) And finally, Rata Sum is the main city in the Asuran lands in EotN. :p

Why is this game good? I played it for 2 months. Reached lvl 20 with my main char and did all the coop missions. I basically collected most of necessary elite skills. PvP was kinda fun for like 2 days. What is the point of the game after that? Maybe because I only played vanilla and factions version?

Well, some people like the social interaction with other people while others like playing alone with heroes and henchmen. There are lots of titles that can be maxed out and there are lots of items to farm for and collect. Some people like to farm to get money to collect minipets or buy rare items. There are Alliance Battles for PvE characters and then there's the PvP aspect(which I know nothing about). Basically there are TONS of things to do and it just depends on what you want to work on and which character you want to do it on. That can be the monotonous part of playing........doing something for the 4th or 5th time after already doing it with several other characters. There is nothing wrong with just having Prophecies and Factions as there are plenty of skills to choose from. The game continues on with Nightfall and Eye of the North as there are 2 new professions in NF in Dervish and Paragon and it also introduces heroes into the mix. Heroes are like henchmen only you can put runes and insignias on their armor, choose their skills, and also choose their weapons. Eye of the North adds a few new skills and more heroes. The ultimate way to play is to have all 3 campaigns and Eye of the North. That way you have all of the skills available and the more skills at your disposal the better. :) Those are a few reasons that I think people like the game. It's a very versatile set of games and can be a lot of fun to play with other people on your buddy list. :)

Man I haven't played GW since EOTN expansion came out and I never even finished the expansion at that. I love the game too so it is really odd I just stopped playing.

I don't remember hardly any of it either. My most advance character was a Dervish in Primeval armor with a combination black/red armor to make it look like a fade into blood red. Love the way that character looks :D

I need to start playing again sometime. Start a new character just to remember everything lol.

Let us know what your game name is :).

jcwagers

Yes ;), well actually my main 2 chars (Derv & Ele) have decent green weapons so they don't need new ones. My warrior however does need a better sword (though I haven't used him much lately), mainly its some of my hereos that need better weaps, but I can't remember what offhand, I'd need to catch you in game for that I think.
Though I do remember my monks(healers) don't have top end weaps, so I would be interested in your green weaps their :).

matas
Well maybe it just isn't your type of game, however I would say that Night Fall with its customisable hereos makes it much more fun (& you don't have to relie on other players so much:p).Personally from the 2 versions I have I like the story & I like the exploring (can't stand PvP;)).

seriously. I'll be out of town over the weekend. But I'm handing out the majority of my inventory to a lot of the pals that I've accumulated...well, most of them are at the same position I'm in: burned out after 2-3 years, too much loot to take care of, market vs merch, etc. too many characters to handle, too much cash spent on Elite armor sets--yes, many characters have multiple elite sets, haha(meaning...nothing left to do in the game), and yeah...back to real life :( .....;)

anyhoo, hit me up in-game. add Zinfamous Son Of Zi (not the name I wanted; limited by characters, hah), then PM me if you see me on. You'll see me on one of my various characters (many of whom have been banned, names..unfortunately changed. no biggie though) I'll do my best to hook you doods up. Loot, advice, whatever. a few runs here and there, my favorite farming spots, and how to farm the popular spots, item values, etc.....and all my characters are effing loaded.

I'm looking to axe this account. Though I want my time spent over the last two years to at least amount to something. if it helps anyone else enjoy the game as much as I have, then that's what I'm looking for.

oh. I'm now on Pac time, btw. so that may present a problem to most people. Happy hunting.

dervish vanguard armor (GWEN) = best armor in the game. as lame as this sounds, it's the only thing that kept me playing for the last 5 months or so, lol

hell. make that 7 months......(no, it only takes ~ 1 week to acquire, but some things are so badass, you just want to log-in and show off. multiple times. ugghhhhhh) :p

You need to talk to Sir Tydus in Ascalon to leave pre-searing. It's recommended that you pick a 2ndary profession before you leave pre-searing. When you talk to Sir Tydus, he will basically tell you that you can't come back after you enter the academy and to make sure that you have everything accomplished before you go. You'll do 2 "missions" during the academy training. One of them will be to fight in a group of human players against another group. You can't fail that mission so just go do it and enjoy it. That is a bit of a PvP exercise as you won't be playing against other players anymore unless you do the PvP aspects of the game(arenas) or make an actual PvP character. The 2nd "mission" puts you again in a group of people and you're doing an offensive against the Charr. I believe that Prince Rurik has to survive for the "mission" to be completed. After you finish this, the story will jump forward as though you've been away fighting for many months and you'll be dumped right outside of Ascalon City. The Ascalon that you will see there will be NOTHING like the one in pre-searing. It's very ugly in comparison.
