Those killing gloves sound as useful as the medic uber-saw. At least with the pyro, you are usually in melee range to use the flamethrower, thus making the axetinguisher useful.

I have more kills with the bone/ubersaw than any other weapon in the game. 25% charge per hits makes it the most useful unlock in the game for me personally.

Not with heavies. They should rename the thing the heavy-killer. I've gotten killed backburning a heavy, strafing/circling him and just going head to head. Now I will admit that I have aiming issues, but once I started to light the heavy up for a second, then switch to the axtinguisher, I've had a lot more success. Oh... and I started dying more cause I start laughing so hard.

In the first one, he kisses Sasha and says "You did well" or "We make good team!" The second, he spins the shotgun on his finger, and sometimes says "You are all dead!" The unarmed one, he draws his fingers as like a gun. No sammich in any of them, just in the meet the heavy movie.

I think heal 1000 damage with med-kits just means walk over the med kit boxes enough times in one life to heal 1000, as opposed to being healed by a medic.

Most people will suggest different classes for beginners, but I myself would suggest you to start with either the Soldier or the Medic. As for testing the maps and learn them yourself it's very easy, you just need to create your own server, set some period of time for a round like I don't know, maybe 15 minutes and walk around the map, learn the health kits and ammo boxes locations, etc.

i would go with soldier...that worked best for me when i was n00b. as for learning you could just play and learn that way or you could go to the developers commentary where you are free to look around and you can get hints as to where parts of the map are good for what classes.

Just saw this on Steam News when I loaded it yesterday. Should be pretty cool. I like playing Heavy if I have a Medic with a brain (happens not too often, unfortunately).
