K so it's Tuesday and I was expecting to be able to play and get some of these achievements racked up before the morning rush of noobs. Seems that Valve hasn't released it yet :(

These are usually released around 2pm EST. Pretty sure Valve is on PST. Haven't ever seen one of these go live late at night.

Of course Valve is PST. They reside in Seattle, Washington.

AH man...I am not gonna be able to play until Friday. That said, I have not touched the game for like a month and half. I am gonna have fun sniping and spying up.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to play yesterday, it'll be a while before the heavy craze dies down.

The other updates, IIRC, went live around 5:30-6:00PM EST. Hell, they didn't even release the details of the arena mode until 8:30PM? EST last night, so it's possible they might have some bugs to work out first.

Just be patient.

Besides, I don't get off work till 5:30 so they better wait!

So does the free play begin as soon as the update goes live? Or does that start this coming weekend?

The held the details of the arena mode for reasons of suspense not that it was incomplete.

I doubt it was for suspense. They wouldn't change the page late in the evening from saying "Coming Monday" to "Coming Monday-ish" for suspense... It may not have been for bug fixes, but something delayed the info from being released.

usually weekends...

To give all gamers a chance to check out the new gameplay introduced in "The Heavy" update, Valve will be running a Team Fortress 2 Free Weekend via Steam, a leading online platform for the delivery and management of PC games. The Free Weekend is open to gamers the world over and scheduled to begin Friday, August 22 at 11 am PDT.[/b]

Man, this update looks so badass, I wish I could go home right after work and try it out.

I've never played the Steel map before, anyone know it? Decent?

So I'm guessing the last update is about the Sandwich unlock for the heavy based on that achievement. And needing a way to last without a medic =P. Of course, can't shoot while you eat...

Playing with the latest update is crashing my client fairly regularly, unfortunately.

I'm just guessing on something I saw, but I think there was a glitch where you could attempt to play while the game was updating. Check your Steam games tab and see if its done yet and then try again.
