None of that is correct.

Anyway, the company is allowed to say what can and can't be shown. That's no injustice. I have a problem with system where another employee could sue the company/flag owner because they are offended by the flag, but that didn't happen.

I have to say that I don't like the fact that the flag was placed on the ground.

Also, I disagree with many of jpeyton's viewpoints, but I don't see how he's anti-American. What's your criteria for being a true American? I'm a fairly far-right southern boy, but until he actively works against the government and its constitution, he's just an American with a different opinion as far as I'm concerned.

Eh, that's clearly a convenient excuse should the hospital be looking for one. We still don't know the whole story. The facts (as presented so far) do not indicate size was the issue. Not that it matters, you don't have the right to do whatever you want at a place of private employment be it hoist a flag or even putting a plant on your desk.

Well, thanks everyone for expressing their opinions about my post in this thread. I was pleasantly surprized and amazed at the many different agenda's that were inappropriately applied to it.

And let me first apologize at this time for not explaining my position in such a way so as to not mistakenly bait the well meaning but misguided patriotic flag wavers off of their front porch rocking chairs in order to lay their righteous but mislaid indignation at my feet.

Like I said in my first post, "I wouldn't mind" her putting up the flag on the office wall. And the reason why I wouldn't have minded is that, if true, and it not being a clever counterpunching afterthought on her part, I would be quite sympathetic toward her personal feelings for doing so, of which it has absolutely nothing to do with how patriotic I am or not and it has absolutely nothing to do with me attempting to be politically correct.

In my previous post, I was viewing this incident from a practical and pragmatic point of view; nothing more, nothing less, the point of which I thought I made clearly, but "apparently" not, as it seems others have used my words to wave Ol' Glory in my face.

I am a retired veteran with 26 years of active duty and reserve/guard service going all the way back from fighting charlie in Nam to participating in Desert Shield/Storm, operating out of Italy, Saudi and Turkey, so I really don't have to prove how patriotic I am as my prior service speaks for itself.

Politically correct? Me? Sympathetic, sure...Considerate of other people's feelings? Of course. Politically correct? I'm too old and seen too much to waste even a single synaptic ping about crap like that. LOL.

Americans are rather impoverished with respect to national symbols. We have the flag, Uncle Sam, the eagle, and the minuteman, but not much else in the way of identity symbols. I guess it is due to the young nature of our country.

We don't even have a national dish. Cheesecake is the closest approximation there.
