This entire post is the classic "it's different from Windows, so therefore it's worse than Windows" mindset.

Nope, I use and love Linux, it's the main os on my laptop. I just can't run anything else on my desktop due to game/program support. If there was a good competitor to Windows this would be a different story, but as of now there just isn't.

I do not find joy in spending the first 3 hours of laptop ownership wiping a harddrive clean to get rid of all the bloatware, nor do I enjoy spending hours installing anti-malware programs and troubleshooting malware related issues.

As a connoisseur of free internet porn, I find this very important.

OSX is windows for idiots.

I tried it, the mouse was weird, went into the mouse settings bit and behold three tickboxes and a sensitivity slider, that's it, ah heck all that actually helped. With windows there's 5 tabs and tons of options

1 small example but it sums up my overall experience with OSX nicely.

over-dramatic much? 1 of those 5 tabs you're talking about simply lists the device info, with nothing you can actually change *ooooh!* Another is for changing the cursor, which you can do is OSX, it's just not under the mouse settings. Your "tons of settings" is a bit far fetched, and the 5 tabs thing is laughable. I guess that last one's good if you want to look at the driver info, which will just be the generic microsoft drivers from 2006, again *ooooh!* More isn't always better, I've never met a single person who's gone into their mouse settings in Windows and change the primary and secondary buttons. I use a Razer mouse in OSX which has it's own drivers which give me infinitely more control that the default windows control panel. You try to make yourself sound like a power user, yet you use the windows default mouse config program? That's hilarious

Keep posting that stupid pic as a valid argument, I don't know at which point you thought that was either accurate or amusing, or from having no experience in the subject and just acting like the people that posted the same stupid "macs vs pcs" pics and brand it as truth. FYI, at least the "macs vs pcs" pics illustrate some half truths.
I have all major platforms, it's the truth that hurts you.

5 tabs of OEM system rape. A bunch of options nobody would ever use, utilities to mimic stuff built into OS X like Expose.

I think there's a few annoying things. For example, not having a simple right-click on the touchpad of the MBP. Not being able to cut-paste or create folders as easily as windows.

I just switched to a MBP and love it but there's a few things that are very annoying.

Right click, tap/click with 2 fingers or, if you are on the newer systems with the glass trackpads, you set the bottom right section to be the right click zone. And you click there like you would on a PC.

Cut/Paste. Cannot help you with that in Finder, but I can understand where you are coming from. I don't really notice the absence that much anymore, but I may have just gotten used to it. Try PathFinder, I think that it has Cut/Paste, but I have only used it briefly.

Creating Folders... CMD+Shift+N. What is it in Windows?

For the other issues, while I can respect that sometimes you do actually want to fullscreen something, I sort of feel like that mentality has been forced onto users. As an example, I have a 1920*1080 monitor at home, why would I want to have my browser full screened, all the time? I wouldn't. The same goes for almost everything on my system (and this is Windows 7, not OS X). In OS X, the reason that some things will full screen and others will not is that the (+) button doesn't full screen, it does what is called a 'Smart Zoom' IIRC. Meaning that it will resize the window to accommodate the contents, and then stop there. And yes, it is another example of Apple thinking for you, and Evil Lord Jobs forcing his ways upon the unwitting, uneducated, overfunded, douchy, latte-swilling, hipster MacTards. Deal with it.

Oh, and very possibly just to shut you people up, the next version does have full screen maximizing, are you happy now?

Buy a dell vostro. It's a business model, which just means it's got an aluminium case and doesn't come with extra shit installed. That's what I did when I needed a laptop at least (I don't normally like them).

After using a MBA for about a month now I can say it's certainly worth the price. As said, there's more to these systems than performance specs. It's thin, build quality (thing is built like a tank and weighs 2.9 lbs), the screen is gorgeous, rated at 7 hour of battery life (gets more after undervolting :D). Sure it's more money, it's kind of like the italian exotics of computing :)

Mouse acceleration in OS X is completely ridiculous and makes it unusable. Your pointer moves too slowly when you move it slowly, and very quickly jumps too fast when you start to speed up. Mouse acceleration should be very subtle but in OS X it's not at all.
