Follow the bouncing ball. I was referring to the tent cities in SoCal. Maybe knee jerk less and read more. As always I appreciate your concern.
It's a great topic and deserving of it's own thread. I'd like to hear what you think needs to be done to fix that problem. Do you want to start a thread ?

You should start a new thread if you want to discuss that topic, as it has nothing to do with this one. The homeless problem in west coast cities has been ongoing for decades. Its underlying causes are: 1) demand for housing exceeds supply even as we build new housing at an exponential rate, and 2) mild winters. We also don't believe in the right-wingnut solution for homelessness, which (like most RWNJ solutions) is to criminalize it.

sorry, no. Your reasons don't at all address the mental illness and addiction problems in the homeless community. We as a society fail at taking care of the mentally ill and fail to address the drug addiction.
Before you even start, keep in mind that I worked for the Port of Seattle and was tasked with cleaning up homeless encampments after law enforcement moved them out. I am an excavator operator, and the basic operation was keep my ass in the seat, do everything possible with the thumb, and if you do get out put on cut proof gloves and watch out for needles. We took classes to safely deal with the trash.
I am by no means vilifying those with illness and addiction problems, far from it. It is the reality on the ground.
My roommate's coworker was walking her dog by her job in Seattle, and did the right thing and picked up the dog poop, and got a needle stick for her reward. Now that's fucked up right there. She got tested for AIDs and HepC, so far so good.

It is relevant to this thread given the tent city implications and why people might oppose them.

I appreciate your concern. There are tent cities in Seattle, and I can understand why people would not want that culture to take root in the autonomous zone.

And I can appreciate that you want to pivot your concern trolling to homelessness since all the Fox news BS about CHAZ has proven to be false.

This is from you and was what I replied to:

"I was referring to the tent cities in SoCal."

If it were just weed, it wouldn't be a problem, but those tent cities are often unsanitary, attract rodents, which bring with them the resurgence of medieval diseases, not to mention that cleanup crews have to wear hazmat suits due to all the drug needles, and unsurprisingly, whenever one of these tent cities get cleared out, the authorities tend to find a lot of stolen items, especially bicycles.
I see no mention of Southern California in the above response!
Maybe you should stop deflecting to much and be more precise in what you post! After all it is hard to read the mind of somebody who keeps losing it all the time!
Next time start another thread and stop trying to derail this thread!!
Thanks your cooperation is appreciated!

It's the total lack of good faith that I abhor. It's like he thinks we don't see it.

You’re welcome to quote where I parroted Fox talking points about CHAZ. You’ve rallied concern squad.

CNN is reporting two shooting victims in the CHOP and a crowd prevented first responders from getting in, with one of the victims dying from his wounds. Who will be performing the homicide investigation?

You need to tell the whole story...oh I forgot it was you.....
Police said a "violent crowd" prevented them accessing to the victims. They said they were later informed that both victims had been transported to Harborview Medical Center by CHOP medics.

The 19-year-old later died and the other victim, who was only identified as male, remained in the hospital.

See how easy that was??

Also -- Police said the suspect or suspects fled and are still at large, and homicide detectives are investigating.

Why would they want to investigate a killing?

I intentionally excluded that part of the story because the police claims have been unsubstantiated.

So what you’re telling me is that the police are needed to investigate a homicide in a zone that declared itself autonomous from police.

No your being disengenous why you left out a very important part of the story!
YES!! The Police are investigating! Seems to be working fine!
Again what is your issue??
