The protests were largely peaceful and legal, with only a few exceptions done by a few, you might call them 'bad apples'. The response to those legal and peaceful protests was violence from the police. The result was just what you said, more violence in response. The police, of course, used that as an excuse to use even more violence, and the cycle continued. Anytime you get that cycle eventually it breaks down into anarchy. The police caused this. They kept escalating until it came to this.

Tent cities are definitely a west coast thing. There was a sizable one on the biking and running trails adjacent to my SoCal apartment.

The cycle started with the bad apples. If every demographic in America took care of its own bad apples, instead of carrying water for them, we would be a better society. The problem is that the bad apples are sometimes useful and therefore tolerated.

I visit the Seattle area and Phoenix area frequently (well not the past few months) and i like Seattle much more. To each their own.


As for CHAZ, I get it, you are susceptible to being the victim of propaganda. There are clear cut cases we can link back to on these forums to prove that. Nothing to be ashamed over. Just try getting more facts in the future.

That has involved rerouting traffic, freeing up alley access, opened streets, and replacing makeshift barriers with heavy concrete barriers that can be painted.
