Yes, but
my question to you stands, "Do you
really believe his career accomplishment arc will follow Elway's?"
Demon, I know you as a thoughtful and highly informed baseball commentator, so let me run this analogy past you:
In 2009, when J.A. Happ went 12-4 with a 2.93 ERA for the Phillies, did you think he was bound for continued success and even stardom? I'm guessing not.
So, yeah, right now Tebow is "just winning" and it sure as hell makes for a great story! But when you raise the fact that Tebow is doing better at this stage of his career than John Elway did, does this mean you really, really think he will come even close to having Elway's arc of professional success?
I mean, Cole Hamels went 9-8 with a 4.09 ERA for the Phils in his first year. Does this mean that you ever would have used that as an argument for Happ being as good or better than Hamels?
I'm just trying to smoke out
what you mean when you point out the Tebow-Elway comparison.
Does it really have any strong evaluatory relevance for you, or were you just funnin'?
Ok, just saw that crashtestdummy just made the same point, better phrased, in post #189.
