I keep hearing that Russia can build 20 T-90 a month. And yet the documented losses don't get close to this monthly number. Is Russia perhaps saving a stash of T-90's for a reserve force (offensive or defensive)?

Doubt it.

Sorry, but every time I see 'motorcycles' in this thread, I think of Klink and Schultz.

Have you seen their new "anti drone" thing with them? They attach some kind of smoke generator to the back of the bike and haul ass. FPV drones get in the smoke and have a much harder time homing in. Sounds less stupid than mounting a cage over the bike I suppose, which they also do.

I don't think those guys live much longer than your standard cannon fodder.

This source claims only 60-70 built in all of 2023. With a grand total of ~230-250 T-90M's delivered by June 2024. Notably, at least half of these were planned to be upgrades of older T-90A, rather than actual new builds, and the ratio may be as high as 75%/25% refurbs vs. new builds.

Of those ~230, Onyx has tracked a minimum of 101 confirmed losses.

More ongoing coverage of the war from one of my fav sources, to wit (one excerpt):

In Mali this week, Tuareg rebels offered to send Russian prisoners to Ukraine, saying, "Dear Ukrainian brothers! We, the armed forces of the CSP-DPA, want to express our solidarity with you in your fight against Russian criminals. We have captured a significant number of Wagner mercenaries and want to hand over these prisoners to you as a sign of support and solidarity. This gesture is aimed at helping you in your struggle for justice and freedom. We hope that this will contribute to strengthening our ties and our common victory. With all our support, the CSP-DPA Armed Forces."
Mali had coups in 2012, 2020 and 2021. The UN, EU and African Union condemned the coup, the regime asked the UN peacekeepers to leave and Wagner mercenaries arrived in January, 2022 to support the regime. Tuareg rebels in the north ambushed a convoy, killing and capturing government and Wagner troops. One of the Russians killed was reportedly a Russian commander responsible for Bakhmut and Soledar offensives, a battle that was dominated by Wagner participation. After the rebels offered to send the Russian prisoners to Ukraine, Ukrainian private citizens responded with gratitude and one offered to send them drones.

Now would be an excellent time for Ukraine to shove a select number of high quality F-16 decoys out at its airfields to make the Russians waste a bunch of Iskanders.

Everyone's favourite gopnik has a bit of a rant with Ukraine's latest attack on Russia...

My favourite line... “If we can’t handle drones, how will we deal with F-16s?”

They can all be shot down.
The difference is Ukraine can make more drones than Russia has missiles.
Drones are destined to win over all expensive frames.

I suspect long term there will be more effective jammers or electro magnetic attacks.
Before long, and especially at the high end for military use, drones will no longer be remote piloted. Rendering jamming useless.
