Great. Now all we need is China invading Taiwan. I think what Russia is doing is just foreplay. China is going to be emboldened by these series of events. Mark my words.

Not yet but they are most certainly watching. I'd expect a significant US show of force in the pacific and likely more arms for Taiwan to be forthcoming.

Due to the ineffective and senile leadership of this country by Biden and his useless choice for vice-president Harris we now have a maniac like Putin following in the footsteps of Hitler.

Time to make a new fucking thread, he's invaded the Ukraine already, no "brink" anymore.
Where EXACTLY was the leadership failure? Putin used a different tactic when you hero was in charge, dismantling NATO. Trump was ready to do it until he got too much pushback. He also held up aid to Ukraine trying to bribe them in digging up dirt on Biden.

Trump had all out allies hating us and now Biden has brought them back together again.

What do you think they talked about at the Helsinki meeting when no staff was in the room besides translators?

You are completely delusional

You can buy cheap tickets $600 rt from the US through May if you are nervous about going now because of the invasion hype. Airbnb $100 per night for 2br condo in center of Kiev. Fun country. Buy through western airline, like Lufthansa. If there's occupation (there won't be, but for sake of argument), then there will be sanctions and flight will be canceled and refunded. But IRL, you'll enjoy it and help their economy. Thank me later.
So now what am I supposed to do with these tickets to Kyiv?

I read the rules last night for the UN removing a member of the UN security council.

This seem like a reasonable provocation to start that process for Russia.
To remove someone from the security council requires the approval of the security council, meaning any permanent member can veto their own removal.

The UN is not going to do shit. It was able to police the bad behavior of a permanent member exactly once in history, Korea, because Russia had boycotted it. No permanent member will ever make that mistake again, and so it has no power over them.

What is the red line for Putin to do something drastic, like strike against NATO, or even a preemptive nuclear strike? (I mean a non-military action prompting a Russian military response)

Fast tracking Sweden and Finland into NATO? Totally severing them from global banking?

Probably none of those things. If he attacked NATO he would lose and attempting a preemptive nuclear strike would probably get him overthrown and killed.

I doubt anything. He seems to think most of the foreseeable reactions are baked in.

Nothing to worry about folks, the adults are back in the White House. Might want to hurry up and buy all the gear you see yourself wanting to use for the next decade before Taiwan gets reamed.

China prepping to invade Taiwan is most definitely not going to be something they can conceal.
Definitely. China would require a massive build up along the coast.

China v Taiwan is also not remotely the same thing as Russia v Ukraine. An invasion would have to be carried out by air and sea. Taiwan has been preparing for such an eventuality for what 70 years?

Taiwan also has western fighter aircraft in addition to its own homegrown planes.
