that wasn't your intent??

I'm not comprehending the whole pronoun thing. I grew up when you didn't get to choose your own pronouns and decide what sex you want to be going forward. If anyone can explain all this to me, please do...

Muse, cis male surrounded by LGBTQ+ people of all stripes...

Not in this thread.

I would assume they have some mobile AA protecting the convoy. A-10 flies low.

So, I can properly say Bruce Jenner wants me to call her Bruce because she is so entitled, right?

Please start a new thread on this. Long story short, there are scientifically more than 2 genders, but only two sets of pronouns.

Can someone enlighten me as to what the point of this is?

Why even negotiate? Negotiations shouldn't be on the table until every single Russian is out of Ukraine. What could Ukraine possibly want to give Putin? What could Russia offer in exchange?
1. Time. The more time, the better for Ukraine. More supplies for the actual pitched battles, and more time to start stockpiling for their insurgency. At some point when Kyiv is either going to be totally destroyed or "surrendered", you of course "surrender" it, and then start killing the occupiers. Killing occupiers pretty much works every single time. It might take years, but eventually the occupiers leave.

2. "Good Faith". For Ukraine, the entire argument is that they weren't attacking Russia, they weren't trying to join NATO, they weren't being the bad guy. So, negotiations show good faith. And Ukraine's primary goal is to show the entire world their good faith so they can get more time.

He did need it to get elected. He was polling at 2% for President at that time. His reaction to those bombings are what made his name with the general public when Russia still had the idea of democracy.
He was appointed by Yeltsin on new year and didn't have an election until a year afterwards, where he would be the incumbent and presumptive leader.

They've done that twice in Syria and i believe in the first Ukraining invasion

Putin directly stated the goal today. Ukraine will become a vassal puppet of Putin, like Belarus. Not just disarmed and neutral. Owned by him.

My take, he doesn't need any of the 44 43 million Ukrainians alive to achieve that goal. Anyone that does not bow to Putin is a Nazi that Russia wants to kill. Listen to Putin's speech today and tell me that is not the impression he gives.

Twist: China did the world a favor by asking Putin to wait until after the Olympics (or mud-season in Ukraine).

We need to thank China for the assist. Loud and clear so Putin can hear how helpful China was in getting us time to prepare. Drive that wedge.

Interesting article from 2 years ago:

As an edit: Did I forget to mention I LOVE the A-10? I've been "strafed" four times by Warthogs....a glorious experience every time! Knew a couple of Warthog pilots back in the late 1970's. Absolutely love the plane!

That feels a lot like a war crime.
I would love to see the Ukranians roll in behind the Russians with their own tanks and annihilate them as they set up their little trap. It would be epic.

I wouldn't trust NYT reporting on any war. Fuck those pieces of shit.
What'd NYT do to you?
Some people like to claim the NYT editorial board are all warmongers and have never seen a war they don't like. But I'm not reading the Op-Ed section for news coverage on the invasion. The NYT is still the premier American newspaper. If I actually wanted to read extreme right-wing editorials, there's the WSJ for that.

i suppose there will be mis and disinformation going on in a war zone...and as per usual.

but i assume the casualties will keep mounting. on both sides...

check multiple sources for facts, bias is everywhere. obviously.

Time also buys time for the Russian people to start to realize what's really going on. The REAL way out of this for Ukraine (and the rest of the world) is for Putin to be overthrown. But that is going to take time. We can only hope the Ukranians can hold out long enough for Russia as a whole to have an upheaval.

It was always one of my favorites too. One of my aunts has done a bit of support work for them in her National Guard role.
