I swear to God, if my hommie calls me up again, and tells me you\'r harrassing him, i\'m going to come down there and beat your mother f*cking ass. Understand a$shole!!!"

I don't know if I should break out into fits of laughter, run away scared, or just report this instantly. I just printed it out.

EDIT: it's from a Yahoo! .ca account- do I have anything to worry about?
I am betting it didn't come from your roommate or a friend of him. Sounds too much like this.

just take it easy until the end of the semester... you are aggravating the situation and not helping things at all.

I know how you feel. I used to have a roommate with that problem. NOT nice! Well, he was otherwise OK. When he left I got a new roommate, who had different problem: He didn't like to wake up. Why is that a problem? Well, mornings went like this:

7.00am: his alarm-clock goes off. I can clearly hear it (it's about half a meters from my head on the pother side of the rather thin wall), so I too wake up. He hits snooze and goes back to sleep. So do I
7.10am: his alarm goes off again. He hits snooze and goes back to sleep
7.20am: his alarm goes off...
7.40am: his alarm goes off...
8.00am: his alarm goes off.... ad infinitum.

That thing REALLY pissed me off! Luckily he was otherwise bearable. I did get a place of my own. The first night there was like paradise. The rent may be 3.5 times giher than before, but it's worth it!

Judging from the typing style, that e-mail threat isn't from your roomate nor anyone else you know, it seems to be from that asshat in afformentioned thread who's just been trolling the forums and happened upon your thread. I encourage him to give me some static, I'll play right back.

You remind me of one of my friends from college. He would have issues with people doing the same things you complain about and then after weeks or months would get enraged and blow up like you are claiming to do. Why don't you just tell them they can't do something that upsets you right then and there instead of allowing a list to manifest itself. You seriously need to go to the Dean of Students office and get this resolved or the Housing office or whatever.

stop buying stuff for the room. Don't buy any more TP or kleenex. Keep a roll and a box in your room. Take all your stuff into the bathroom when you need it, and take it back to your room when you are done. I know it is a pain, but he'll figure it out and start buying his own stuff.

Man, your situation sucks. I would tell housing about the threatening e-mail. They don't take such things lightly.

Ok guys, I just went to the police- will be filing a complaint of harrassment (that's as much as I could get) tomorrow morning. I went and talked with the head of Housing as well, who told me that they can relocate me immediately, or set up some roommate mediation meeting, where the both of us, our R.A., and the apartment director has a meeting to try to resolve the situation. I've got a meeting with the apartment director here in about 15 minutes, so maybe I'll have some more information afterwards. But I'm packing up my study materials to go camp out in the library tonight (I have tons of studying to do anyway). I'm gonna go ahead and leave all my home theater equipment in the living room (remember, it's disabled anyway), and will see what happens. While I was out, I went by a buddy's place off-campus to see if I could leave my car there, maybe even in his backyard, but ironically all his stuff was on the lawn. His girlfriend threw him out! He wasn't even there... jeez. What luck I'm having today! Maybe I'll leave it parked behind my Church nearby and tell my pastor. It's not staying another night here, that's for certain.

I decided not to post a copy of the E-mail on his door either, so I dunno. I'll be in touch from a library computer tonight after I'm done/taking a break from, studying perhaps, and when I come back here later tonight. I'll keep you guys posted, and thanks again for your help! I've got a professional (who one of you referred this thread to- thank you) helping me trace the E-mail address.

And from my gracious Internet sleuth:
"That wasn?t your friend or anyone related to him, it is the guy that is mentioned in forum issues. I am now in contact with that ISP to get this 13 yr old pimple faced looser off the internet. He has been doing this. I would post this in the thread in forum issues as well."

Hmm...

Umm... he didn't pick the roommate... (bold added by me):

Well that's the thing, I AM going to talk to him- hopefully will confront him tonight. It's no more Mr. Nice Guy. And I have no idea why they put a damn fish with me (21) and another guy (cool, and 23). Unfortunately, the other cool roomie wasn't willing to join 'The Talk' and take my side. I think he's too passive, but this bastard isn't going to walk all over me.

Roommate assignments are up to the Housing Department, not me. Believe me, you think I'd let a fish room with me?
