why the eye roll?
I edited out what I had said and the eye roll seemed an appropriate substitute.

You cant deal or reason with him in any way, you are only going to get all your stuff trashed or stolen, or a total headache after weeks of war. Just move out. It sucks to let the bad guy win, but thats the way it works.

Unfortunately, that may be what happens. I have a helluva lot more to move than he does. Hopefully we can get this roommate mediation meeting to show who's the good guy and who's the bad guy (probably on Friday), and make the bad guy move out. It's looking like that E-mail wasn't credible; my Internet sleuth is working with that idiot's ISP to get his account banned (you hear that, pondscum?). Anyway, so in that case, all that's happened is that he's shouted at me that he's not going to talk with me; cowardly. Cool roommate is here now, I filled him in, and I've got his backing in case something goes down tonight. Now that he's here, I'm going to stay here as well and do some studying while I wait. Cool roommate insists that bitch roommate really hasn't done anything to piss him off, so he's staying out of talks... "but if he so much as lays his hand on you, I will have him down on the floor and the authorities called".

Good enough.

Car decision:

Since that E-mail is probably not credible now, I'm thinking about going ahead and leaving my car parked outside tonight. Cool roommate has a friend (albeit, across town) on a ranch where I could ditch the GTI for a couple days while this blows over. Then I'd be confined to my bike, which would suck. But I really don't have anywhere I need to go off-campus for the next few days. Anyway, should I risk it? My front tires are balding, so I guess if they got slashed, I could get those replaced by him or his parents (before it gets done at the end of the summer anyway). Is this wise, or should I really try to have my car relocated tonight? Bitch roommate is so ignorant, I might even get away with parking it on the other side of the building and it'd be safe...

College RHDs rarely if ever move someone out. They will try to make you get along, but Ive never heard of a case where they moved someone out unless there was a physical fight.

And if you think he's going to change, he's not. He may, for a few days, but give up the notion of longstanding peace. Give it up. Totally. Its not even up for discussion.

And half of your "rules" are absolutely unreasonable. Although you see yourself as the good guy, to him, YOU are the pain in the ass, and neither of you is right. The only thing you have a real valid complaint about is him and his friends using your stuff.

Probably so, but he's used up all his good-guy points with me and is now in negative territory. All of these rules will be implemented- screw him. It's my stuff, and he's got no priviledges left.

Threatening E-mail Update...::

"The server / service provider is located in North Carolina. (forgot which city) they are called aitnet.com the mail was sent from a service called nachomail that they host. www.nachomail.com I am in the process of getting this site shut down, as its sole intent is to send spoofed E-mail.

I should mention it fits the other perpetrators profile to a T. so I would stick with my original statement that your room mate, or any of his friend probably had nothing to do with it. this is some 12 yr old kids idea of fun for the summer apparently."

Regardless of what you might think, he can bring over anyone he wants and they can stay as long as they want, as long as they stay on his side of the room. You dont own the room any more than he does. Just cause you dont have people overnight doesnt mean he cant.

And he can hack all the phelgm he wants.

Room Nazis are every bit as bad as assholes.

I swear to God, if my hommie calls me up again, and tells me you\'r harrassing him, i\'m going to come down there and beat your mother f*cking ass. Understand a$shole!!!"

I don't know if I should break out into fits of laughter, run away scared, or just report this instantly. I just printed it out.

EDIT: it's from a Yahoo! .ca account- do I have anything to worry about?

I would get a gun. Not because you should be particularly afraid, but because it's TX and you have shall-issue concealed weapons permits :D

If he bangs the roommate whenever he pisses him off, what leverage will have in the relationship? If anything, he should be withholding sex.

If this was an OFF-campus apartment, sure! But I live on University property. However, when I graduate next May and go to a different University for my Masters and live off-campus, you can bet your patootie that I'm getting my conceled handgun license and a Glock. I love Texas. ;)

While I don't agree, and think I should be able to lay out groundrules, this is probably what is going to end up happening. But dude, if you heard him hacking up hairballs or phlem or whatever it is, you'd want to beat his ass every living day of the week too. It's incessant.

Dont get me wrong, I think all of that is disgusting, and your roomate having people over when youre trying to sleep IS a pain in the ass, but just cause youre a senior and he's a freshman means jack sh*t. You can lay down ground rules that apply to your property only, and that means your side of the room. He doesnt HAVE to be nice or considerate to you. It doesnt sound like he likes you any more than you like him.

I feel your pain, and you can set down all the rules you want, but he's not going to follow them. You should move out and save yourself the headache.

my dorm's "guidebook" states that nobody can have guests overnight without consent of the other roommates - check your housing policy.

I have a Glock 30 (.45ACP), a converted AK-47, Remington 870 12 gauge, S&W 357 Mag, S&W 38 spc, and a Browning Sweet 16 shotgun.

Texas is a great state to live in!

Nah, I'm working alongside the authorities and Housing now and don't want to screw that up (I've got insane credibility over him right now). I wish I could, but it's not my style. Believe me though, if he lunges, there will be a considerable counter-attack.
