I have a feeling this so called "recount" will go on and on until they can announce that Trump "really won". And if he did not "really won", they won't let THAT stop them. Think about it.... if they found nothing to support their claims of massive ballot fraud, how in the hell would they ever announce this to Trump? They wouldn't, they couldn't. If they re-counted and concluded that everything was fine then Donald Trump would attack them too. Trump would find some reason to accuse them of being a part of the Biden ballot fraud. And for being Trump traitors. So for them what is more feasible, to tell Trump the truth and face the wrath of Trump, or do what they originally intended to do all along.... to simply lie. And they will most definitely lie when the counting is all said and done because.... THEY HAVE TO.

Geez, who would have thought. Oh, by the way, there's a federal law that election ballets must remain in ELECTION OFFICIALS possession for 22 months. DOJ has some ammo now. Break out the popcorn.

U.S. Justice Department worried about Arizona vote recount - POLITICO

where's the bamboo?

This whole thing is a dangerous sham that will be just another nail in our coffin as the gullible masses are whipped up into a frenzy about"voter fraud."

What happened to the "rough and tumble, don't thread on me, pull myself up by my bootstraps, I bow for nobody" GOP that they would go through all this just for one man? This country was formed just to get out from under the thumb of one man...and here we are, full circle, begging to get back under it. It's like these people are begging to be ruled over.

You can't make this stuff up. Really, really worrisome times for us.

Just look at the shit that Republicans are up to in Arizona...
The purpose of this station appears to be to verify the authenticity of the ballots. It reportedly relies on dubious technology from Jovan Pulitzer, an election conspiracy-theory advocate, that purports to verify the authenticity of ballots by checking the paper folds and ink. Auditors are also reportedly looking for traces of bamboo in the ballot paper, an echo of a baseless conspiracy theory that ballots were smuggled in from Asia. Even some people helping with the audit are skeptical of Pulitzer’s technology.

“This guy is nuts,” John Brakey, an election transparency advocate who was brought in to help with the audit, told reporters on Tuesday. “He’s a fraudster … It’s ridiculous that we’re doing some of this.”

Meanwhile from the Sec of State for AZ

I personally doubt Trump will run in 2024 and if he does I'm not even sure he would win the nomination - his support for being the GOP nominee already seems to be deteriorating and I expect him to take a similar trajectory to Palin. If I had to bet I would say that he or one of his close family members will have been indicted by that point anyway so he may have bigger fish to fry than trying to run for office.
If this was 2023 already, Trump cruises to the nomination. But otherwise you're right that we don't know yet what happens the next two years and he may become a non-viable candidate.

2024? As if the GQP won't be using every dirty trick in the book to turn the House/Senate back over to their control in 2022!

Example: Recalling Newsome would give the GQP the ability to appoint a new Secretary of State, which would also give them the power to purge voter rolls and mess with voting machines. Thank God they can't mess with redistricting, or they'd do that too. Turning Orange County red again is a priority for retaking the House.
Gavin Newsom isn't going anywhere, unless there is another severe Covid-19 surge and/or deep recession (as of now, neither seems likely). As a whole, Orange County is a swing area roughly split geographically (N/S). The moderate districts already flipped back to the GOP in November's election, so I don't know if they have any remaining gets in 2022?

Much different times. The state wasn't a GOP wasteland back then, and Californians stupidly believed that Davis was responsible for the electricity crisis that was championed by predecessor Pete Wilson.

I don't know how you pull it off strategically, but the Democrats might be wise to put a viable candidate on the challengers ballot just in case. It would take a major crisis for Newsom to be voted out, but I'm far from convinced one of the GOP's usual suspects can even defeat a worthy (D) contender at this time.

At Newsom's most vulnerable point 3 months ago, he was still +9 points to keep his job:

I just watched a YouTube clip. About trying to find bamboo in the paper because there were like 40k of ballots flown from SE Asia.

the interviewee said we grow bamboo in AZ.

CA is indeed a very weird state. The people are pretty off the wall and easily talked into doing silly things especially with their politics. Exchanging Gray Davis for Arnold was a pretty dumb knee-jerk thing to do but they thought it would be fun to have a movie star running the state, and it wasn't. A lot of buyers remorse. Yet.... Californians will probably do it all over again with caitlyn jenner. I mean, caitlyn jenner certainly sounds fun if your a Californian . Swapping out Newsom for Jenner certainly sounds like a well thought out decision . No chance of buyers remorse with that one . What spooks me is how down pat South Park nailed down Caitlyn Jenner. Seriously CA, THIS is what you want ????

Won't happen. If Jenner was a democrat Newsom would be in trouble. There is no way California will elect a republican governor.

Won't happen. You cannot be governor of CA without winning the SF Bay Area, and we here in the Bay Area have absolutely no desire to see that woman elected now or ever!

California had a Republican governor as recently as 2011.

Jenner won't win because Newsom is popular. The only reason this recall election is happening at all is the standards for initiating one are stupidly low. (also, recall elections shouldn't exist.)

Jenner won’t win simply because the people she need to vote for her hate transgender anything.
The people who would vote for her won’t because Donald Trump & Tucker.

Arnold was RINO and was elected because California wanted a movie star governor.
Newsom should be recalled for no other reason than he doesn't know about closed captioning. I hope he cracks that code before he runs for president in 24.

No, Arnold is a moderate Republican similar to how Republicans were in the early 90's before the party went completely insane. Would a Democrat have vetoed universal health care for California? I doubt it.

Remember, national Republicans are not a conservative party in the sense that most developed nations have, they are more like the ultra right parties such as Fidesz in Hungary.

He's not going to run for president in 2024.

Her bid will go marginally better than Kanye's presidential. Being a "celebrity" isn't enough just like the Bloombergs and Schultzes of the world constantly rediscover that just being really rich isn't enough either.

Yes its true that the last R governor was in 2011, but 2021 R's are a far cry from 2021 R's.
