Its what I'm using. It's pretty easy and "cheap" too.
Definitely great for the casual player.

I do the same -- just the maps to hammer ratio is like 5:1 it seems

Or you can use 3 x tier 1 maps to make a single tier 2... 3 x tier 2 to make a single tier 3... and so on.

Very Nice Its nice when you get drops you can use.
Trying to 5L my second Belly of the beast drop and after blowing through around 60 Fusings.. I decided to farm for 150 and just get it done on Vorci's bench.
In fact the second Belly of the beast had almost perfect HP roll of 39%

Yeah it was white background with orange border/text in my filter -- I was like WTF IS THAT!?!?!

Edit: Actually nm that. I had one i thought was only like 23%, but its 56%. Got that one when i was like lvl 30 or so.

RE: Exalted Orbs. THEY ARE RARE.

I have 900 hours played, Aquafilth has another like 750 hours played, we've seen half a dozen Exalts actually drop in that game time.

I make my exalts trading and upconverting currencies to useful ones.

So i'm 80 now with new gear and capped resists and i want to say 9k DPS per totem. What should i be doing map wise? Did a few but not sure im maximizing their potential. I do have one rare map. Are those really hard? Not sure the lvls of them.

I have 1 rare, 7 superiors and the rest are generic white ones.

Work your way up the tier of maps. For your level you need to be running at the very least tier 4+ if you want to get any sort of XP.

TIER 1 - lvl 68 TIER 6 - lvl 73 TIER 11 - lvl 78
TIER 2 - lvl 69 TIER 7 - lvl 74 TIER 12 - lvl 79
TIER 3 - lvl 70 TIER 8 - lvl 75 TIER 13 - lvl 80
TIER 4 - lvl 71 TIER 9 - lvl 76 TIER 14 - lvl 81
TIER 5 - lvl 72 TIER 10 - lvl 77 TIER 15 - lvl 82

Currently I am lvl 85 and running tier 6-7 maps.
Its slower going but safer. Some maps will demolish you and its good
to check the Map mods before running it as you might die a lot
and lose a ton of your level.

at Lvl 80, I'd be trying to do Tier 3+ maps (Lvl 70) at a minimum

difficulty depends on map mods and map boss

rare maps are not necessarily hard. it depends on the mods.

Tier 7 (Lvl 74) maps have potentially very difficult bosses (Jungle Valley, Torture Chamber, Labyrynth) depending on your build, gear, and gem links

Never dropped an eternal.

So they put out a special witches hat -- 100pts ($10). For $2 I, and probably a billion others) buy it no questions asked. $10? Forget it.

I'd be buying tons of microtransactions at a $1-$3 a pop. But $10-$20? Forget it. I have to believe many others are the same way?

I've been playing the month long special event, hardcore league. Lost my first toon at Normal Dominus, the second time he comes up and spews the blood letting rain. I thought that was a cheesy death-I'm way out of danger and my life starts dropping at an alarming level.

Lost my second toon at Dominus, Cruel level-sloppy play when I was too tired (the old I'll just get through this fight and go to bed).

I'm really beginning to dislike Dominus.

Any suggestions on what sort of character to try next? I've been playing flame totem witches. From Diablo2 I liked most the bowies and necros, I stink at melee. I played Path of Exile before when Piety was the end of Act 3.

Never dropped a mirror.

Guess I'll consider myself lucky that we had one eternal drop before they got removed

Sold it a month ago for like 13 exalts. One eternal is useless, the exalts should help me buy gear for new builds between leagues

Agreed. I have not purchased anything yet... Waiting to see if they have a Black Friday sale... Then I might blow $60 on the game with some stuff.

I did the second time through. Had no idea about the rain till I researched it online after my first death. Given all the visual stuff going on in this boss battle I never even noticed it-even now that I know about it.
