Sand is done. Stage is done. Access panels in place, outlet covers are on although I need one more vent cover

I lost track of how many bags of sand I brought down to the basement but there is probably 1500lbs of sand down there now

Access for a drain cleanout:

I'll probably put a handle or something on it to make it a little easier to get out

Started making the shelves to hold equipment

There are still just a couple of things I need to figure out for the screen. It'll be anchored to the stage so I at least want the vertical supports in place before carpet is installed. But hopefully I can get that straightened out and schedule some carpet estimates later this week or sometime next week

honest question, are you worried about the house settling a bit uneven over the years at the area of the foundation where you dumped that ~ton of sand?

Not really. The riser area is not much bigger than the one I did in my last house and I didn't see any negative effects over the 7 years it was in place. The crazies in the avsforum Home Theater Construction threads have been doing larger projects for a while with no reported ill effects. Biggest concern I would have would be water but the floor was drylocked + roofing felt + 6 mil plastic barrier that runs up the sides of the 2x8s" so if it gets wet its probably because the basement turned into a whole lotta suck for the entire house.

I do wonder what would someone would think if they tried to take the stage (or the one in the house we sold) out only to find all this sand. "Wha.... Why?! OMG this is going to be so much work"

Ok so finally got word today that the insurance check is in the mail. Fortunately my home owners covers sump pump failure and he couldn't have cared less about me having sand in the basement (or at least he never said anything to me about it).

So I managed to save all the plywood by removing a crap ton of screws from it

Remediation guys took all the wet sand out

I felt bad about that but the guys were super nice about it. Kept telling me that it was no big deal compared to what they often see.

I've got a lot of these little holes to patch

So, all things considered, I'm not too far behind. I could probably knock out the stage, riser and flooring in a full weekend day of work (If I had that much free time). Those drywall holes will take a bit longer due to drying but they'll largely be covered by trim. The room will need a fresh coat of paint because the walls got scuffed in a few places as the guys were getting the subfloor out.

I might head to the Lowes tonight to get some of the replacement supplies

What happened? (I'm guessing heavy rain)

I think I answered that in another thread? If not - the sump pump failed

Mold grows in it as well but that hot sun tends to dry it out. He needs to find an inorganic filler. I presume he wants the riser to be acoustically dead.
Well I assume there is all sorts of nasty stuff in it.

I meant there is a lot more air exchange on the beach compared to basement.

I was thinking spray foam, but he'd still have the problem of it being concrete and always producing some kind of moisture from below, no?

That is where breathable subfloor comes in.

Or just get a dehumidifier like everyone else.

I sealed the concrete in this area, put down roofing felt and then put down a plastic barrier so moisture penetration from below should be non-existent. For the areas that did leak I must have snagged a plastic corner or something on the plastic barrier when putting it down.

So most of the damage has now been repaired. There are some gouges on the wall that need to be filled and then I'll need to do another coat of paint

I need to get some wood for the screen frame but I have the screen already. I think I've settled on carpet and just need to get the estimator out for a quote

The room was measured for carpet today and I got a preliminary estimate. Will probably schedule carpet for 3 weeks from today, availability depending

'Goal posts' to hold the screen with laser level to make sure the cross bar is straight
