Not much room for the stripper pole.

He has very small strippers.

Edit: Legal aged very small strippers. That needed to be clarified.

No no - you guys have got this all wrong. This is the waiting area where you can choose your stripper after watching some quick video clips of them. The poles will be in the other area

Look great!

So why are you insulating the floor anyway?

It's just the riser that is insulated and by cutting those long vent holes along the perimeter of the riser it turns the insulation filled riser into a bass trap. In the picture below you can see that the joists are 2" narrower than the perimeter 2x10s allowing the sound waves to move about the riser and be absorbed by the insulation. This should reduce the 'ringing' or reverberation of certain frequencies, cleaning up the sound and reducing bass build up in the corners. Have you ever stood in a corner of a room and thought "Wow - the bass is much stronger here."? If not its a common problem but those sound waves radiate out into the room, bolstering some wavelengths while cancelling out others. Sometimes people think "Oh my speakers must not do that frequency very well" when its just the sound + room characteristics cancelling the sound out. I'll also be putting in some corner bass traps at some point to help alleviate this issue

It works!

Still a lot left to do like trim, wire management, furniture, bass traps etc. But I predict that most work will stop as soon as I get furniture. I said I was 'going to work in the basement' this evening and just spent the time listening to music and starting to watch a movie

Looks great. Why all the space behind the screen? Is that just for the speakers?

Yep - to allow for space between the speakers and walls for acoustical reasons and for space between the speakers and screen so the screen doesn't vibrate

Thanks! I watched a movie and I really need some furniture though. It was much more uncomfortable than the last time I did that on the floor 8 years ago despite the better quality carpet and pad.

Watch any porn on that thing yet? :p

Heh. No

Where's my invite?

You didn't get it? Huh. Must have gotten lost in the mail. Oh well. Whatareyagoingtodo?

The same shit that I always do. Find people that don't want to be found.

I should be in the real estate business. Missed my calling.

Got my furniture a week and a half ago. Now progress will really come to a halt

The furniture ended up being taller than I expected so I had to remount the screen - hence the white cross bar still on the ground:

Ceiling atmos speaker:

I also had to buy a new 2 channel amp to drive the rear two atmos speakers. I had an old one but the right binding post didn't work and I couldn't get it to take the input from the receiver and output it to the speaker that was working. Picked up a cheap $70 from amazon which has worked well so far

Hey now - they stream The Expanse in 4k. It may not be a UHD disc (of which I have several now) but it looks pretty damn good.

..and the sound? :D

But yeah, I was joking--it does look hilarious, though. BTW--do you have general issues with audio-to-image syncing with a lot of Prime content? For some time now, various programs on Prime have an obnoxious ~50ms or so delay, and it doesn't make much of a difference if I'm using the sound system (for which I lazily set up with SPDIF out, using the Amazon ap in my poopy Smasung TV). ...some of the content is OK, but some is really, really bad. This never happens with Netflix, so I'm not convinced that I need to tweak audio delays on my Denon receiver.

This also happens with Amazon content on the lady's Samsung (TVs).

I find that app, on the Samsung firmware at least, to be horrendously bad (claims bandwidth issues when there aren't, crashes at random, those audio issues, etc), but I'm starting to think that the sampling (or whatever you call it) in the files that they licenses is just off from the beginning. --The Americans is a "premium offender" for this issue
