Hey cool, I'm ranked #15 in the US. In platinum. Sigh.
15 overall? or in your division?

Overall, that was just me bitching about never being promoted. But I finally was...after losing 3 straight.15 overall? or in your division?

yeah it seems like the system takes a batch of 10 or 15 matches, compares how you did, then moves you based on that. that's why you see people getting promoted after losing a bunch in a row, etc...
omfg playing with my friends is so depressing... they are so bad it's driving me insane.
jordan or vern?
Im like second in my division and I still havent moved up yet -_-
All the people I play are in diamond too. How annoying
A few more wins and you'll be promoted - the system is testing your faith.
both, but mostly Vern. Jordan is at least trying new things and is playing as zerg so he is slowly learning. But neither of them know how to defend if they aren't playing Terran and can wall off.
Vern does the same thing every game, turtle into battlecruisers and then sends them to help after the game is 70% over and then talks about his "badass" army. Makes me want to punch the screen when the entire game I'm harassing with banshee's or muta's while he just sits there. The best part was when he switched to Protoss, and did the same thing! Just this time he made carriers.
The best are when he asks "want me to rush?" and we are 10+min into the game...
I wouldn't mind any of this if it wasn't for the fact that they just want to jump into pvp and we lose 3 in a row and only win because the other team just turtled after I took map control. It's gotten to the point that I make them do VScpu and I just go random, and we still almost lose against the "Hard" AI... and it's not even hard.
I've also started going zerg just to show Jordan what he is doing wrong, he has been stuck in the SC1 mentality of make zerglings then rush! but then he gets attacked and dies if I cant save him. Also zerg are pretty damn fun to play, banelings are so fun to throw at MM balls and watch them melt.
But what I want to do is some 1v1's to show them how slow they actually are but vern isn't too keen on that idea.
yeah, i don't like playing with jordan or vern either. such noobs.
lol well the person I was responding to knows them personally.
So I have a newbie question. How do you micro enough to do something like keeping your scout from dying to the enemy workers while still building up your base?
Or micro manage a harass force and keep your base going?
As soon as my attention is off my harassment force, it dies instantly.
Use Shift queueing. So let's say you need to build a Gateway as your scout is in their base. You hold shift and right click around in a big circle, then build your Gateway.
Another way is if you need to macro at your base, just send your scout worker away from danger. So when you have nothing to macro, use your scout to harass their workers; when you have something to macro, pull the scout away from their workers then macro. Rinse repeat until the opponent gets out a combat unit.
Ahh, that makes sense. Watching some of the big league replays, the harassment force looks as if it gets all the attention as they are able to focus fire and run and instantly turn back once the defenders retreat. Then I take a look at their base and they are managing their workers and building up their base at the same time and I'm sitting there like... wtf?!?
How deep can you go with shift queuing? Queuing in a scout worker in a circle makes sense because they most likely won't have a combat unit at that point and you aren't trying to kill anything but I still don't get how to harass with combat units while maintaining the base. I just need more experience.
do you guys build the worker first or send the 6 existing workers to mine first?
