Don't really care. Paid money for a game, expect it to work. Like I said, if they can allow people to eject from a jet going that fast and that low and not take immediatedeath damage, they can make the freaking radio beacon be deployed by - not even on - a rock. I don't have to be an expert, that's common sense design and implementation.

Chuck

its probably the same simple guidelines that prevent them from being mounted on walls, towers, vehicles ETC

I'm not the worst, certainly not the best. My rants are about things that should never have been designed the way they were/are, and, things that are just messed up like the radio beacon retry 50x before planting. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong, I don't know. I'm hitting left mouse button to plant the radio beacon, and it just keeps cycling through. I'm 10m away from a guy and hose him down with a belt fed machine gun, my bullets predominately go everywhere but where I've got the crosshairs pointed. I shoot a guy center mass but he takes zero damage not because my bullet hit a railing he's hiding behind, but, because DICE has made hiding behind railings invincible (perfect example of this is Caspian with guys on the spire).

Is this really insane complaining by me, or, are these things DICE really should have fixed/designed better? After designing them and seeing how they work, shouldn't they be fixing them?

Chuck

Just to be clear, I never said you were a bad player, I said "you must have the worst luck as BF3 player". ;)

Radio beacon planting can be a pain in the rear if its on anything other than a flat surface, but I wouldnt necessarily call that a bug. I know its limitations and plan accordingly. I usually try to plant them in a building or under something, I prefer to "teleport" in so that Im not exposed while danging in the air from a parachute. BTW, I think the entire premise of a spawn beacon is silly since Ive seen no such item in the US military's arsenal, it does however add some fun and tactical advantage to the game.

The belt fed LMG's are difficult to shoot accurately unless you are prone or using a bipod. But then again this should be the case as those things weigh a ton, and are intended for covering fire and support. However at the 10M ranges you mentioned I have no problems mowing people down with them in close quarters TDM. The suppressive effect alone is usually enough to get you the kill in such situations, especially when you have such a high ammo advantage over players using other classes. I love running around in the containers on Noshar Canals shooting the PKP from the hip with a laser attached.

I sure have died a lot from ejecting at low altitudes far below max speeds, I must be doing something wrong.

YES! This drives me insane. I charge a tank with my RPG and fire just before being blown to smithereens and......nothing. No points, no damage, no nothing, my life was simply wasted. LOL

The main feature I wish they'd add would be automatic voice chat with your squad. With opt out option of course. I can't see why they didn't include that similar to BF2. It looks like all the stuff is there for it already. It adds so much to the game, but I'll never get to use it as I'm not in a clan and don't schedule my gaming.
Seems very silly and a huge waste not to enable it.

Personally I would never ever ever use in-game voice, not even playing solo (which is rare anyway). I wonder what the numbers are on how many players play on their own versus with a set group.

I have BF3 Limited edition (Through Orign)
To get these addons, I either have to buy each one for 14.99, or pay 49.99 for the premium edition? Those my only two options?

Premium can be bought for substantially cheaper if you wait for it, Origin runs specials for it on occasion and I'm pretty sure I picked mine up with a coupon at GMG for about $30. Not long ago Gamestop had it for $25 as well.

Yeah, provided you already own the 'base' game itself, you'd be looking to purchase the Premium Service. I think it'll probably just give you a CD key which you then enter into Origin which then enables all the extra maps and such (after they download of course); been a while since I did it.

BF3 Premium service is on sale on amazon for $14.99. That is half of what I paid and I got it in a sale. =(

If it makes you feel any better its blocking me from buying it as its a "download for US customers only". Amazon Japan as expected has it on for the bargain price of $50.

I'm surprised no one else wants voice. It not only made bf2 a lot more fun for me, but made the squad invincible against other squads not using it.

Nowadays I mostly play with pubs and unfortunately most pubs are morons, thier chatter is only a distraction to my game. One of the first things I do in games with auto voice is mute other players. LOL

The only time I felt like voice helped is when I was playing competitively and everyone was serious about it. Even clan mates got on my nerves in Teamspeak with all of their nonsense most of the time and I would end up either muting them to play or stop playing to chat. I just cant seem to casually converse and enjoy a game at the same time.

BTW, BF3 has voice it just isnt automatic. I havent used it in ages but it worked fine when I did.

Running Dual monitors, BF3 through Origin app (Disabled Origin ingame).
Running AMD Catalyst 13.5 B2 (12.102.3.0 April 16) on Windows 8 x64. Just recently, when I launch the game, and try to join a server from the webpage battlelog, It opens and keeps flashing back to desktop. The only way to fix it is alt tab and try to get the game in windows mode. But full screen it is a constant back and forth game/desktop/game/desktop

Any ideas how to fix?
