Like I said its in the air not the food, poeple don't get it from licking thier fingers they get it from breathing it. I showed my proof its caused from air but you have not proven anyone has contracted from eating food

People absolutely do get it from licking contaminated fingers.

Remember this?

that was the moment she got infected!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*woosh*

The comedy only works when you understand that licking your finger or touching your face are known infection vectors for respiratory viruses. Everyone knows this. Even preschoolers and kindergarteners are taught this. It seems you are the only one who doesn't know or accept that you can get a respiratory virus by licking your finger and actually dared to say in public that you could not (LOL!).

now you are saying touching your face is another source! the virus is going to crawl into your eyes and nose. shiet!!!!!!!!!! yea it seems respiratory means you breath it in, not from food or licking fingers. must be a scary world for you. it is very comical pointing out that she licked her finger and saying that you can get infected that way. it would be even less of a chance of eating a burrito that someone has coughed or sneezed on, what 1 in a million?

here is yet another article about it.. from virus experts.. guess they dont know antyhing compared to you right!?

Wow. Is it safe to eat out?

YES!

I didn't say otherwise. I eat out often.

Is it safe to lick a stranger's straw?

NO!

I DID say that, and it's common freakin' sense.

Is it safe to eat a salad after someone preparing it sneezes on it?

NO!

That isn't considered "safe food handling" even when there isn't a pandemic.

Get a clue! If a person infected with SARS-CoV-2 coughs and sneezes on your burrito while actively shedding live virus and you gobble it down with no immunity then you are almost guaranteed to get it. "1 in a million" is laugh-out-loud RIDICULOUS.

Let's be clear: Coughing and sneezing on salads or burritos you are preparing is not safe food handling. You took their reassurances about the safety of properly prepared foods during a pandemic and somehow distorted that to mean food is safe even when it isn't handled properly... or when it's out-right prepared in the worst case scenario, like sharing a drink utensil with an infected person. Insane!

Presenting that article (which I read months ago, by the way) to mean that you can't get SARS-CoV-2 infection from mishandled food is as bad as me presenting it in an argument saying that you can't get e-Coli from your food... "because they said eating out was safe!" ...and then plugging my ears to go on believing I was right.

I'm wondering why there's an entire infected kitchen staff still serving food to thousands of people? Seriously, around here 1 worker tests positive the entire company shuts down for at least a short time to disinfect the place. Restaurants anyway, from what i've been hearing.

My point is, there aren't studies specifically stating 'x was definitely, proven the cause of transmission, and here's the x, y and z of how we proved that'. Of course air is the obvious transmission source, specifically air droplets (which we've learned through elimination) but you cannot just exclude food served by a sick person who may have breathed or sneezed on it.
Well, most of the reputable articles online explicitly state you cannot get the coronavirus from ingesting contaminated food (or water). Here's a pretty good FAQ that addresses this discussion:
https://www.bfr.bund.de/en/can_the_...transmitted_via_food_and_objects_-244090.html

While it's possible to get infected with SARS-CoV2 via the mouth, it seems quite unlikely.

Obviously they are essential workers. :tearsofjoy:

Man, you are an ignoramus. A well paid ignoramous, who "works in the medical field," as you have described yourself, so you should know better. Your eyes have Ace-2 receptors, that's what SARS-CoV-2 latches onto. You rub your eyes with hands that have the virus on it and you are apt to catch covid-19. Don't believe me? Look it up. Or continue living in your fucked up bubble, if you prefer that to knowing your ass from a hole in the ground. You may have visited 100 countries but that doesn't make you smart.

I read extensive material on the safety of eating out relatively early on in this pandemic. I came to realize that majorly influencing the treatment, which was rather overly rosey, was the political push (i.e. investment) of the food service industry, in particular organizations promoting them, likely restaurant promotion in particular. It's a murky area, but I think your assessment here (that I quote) pretty much nails it, and is infinitely better than what I saw in my researches.

From my perspective, the question is how safe is the stuff I get from the supermarket. It's a touchy subject. There's a famous video done by an M.D. in Grand Rapids, MI in which he demonstrates what he does with the groceries he brings home to up the chances that he (or his mother, or whatever, there was such a person) won't get the disease from that stuff. Washing with soapy water, etc. It was 1/2 decent. But like I said, it's a murky subject.

One huge thing is this: the guidelines they are giving you are for the most part designed to limit the pandemic, push it down, bring down the positivity and case rates. They are NOT designed to prevent YOU in particular from getting sick. If that's your goal, you will take that 6 feet social distancing parameter with a shaker full of salt.

Why waste ur breathe on me? Is your face your eyes ? Is licking your finger your eyes ?? Obviously touching your face doesn't mean touching ur eye. My argument the whole time is you don't get it from eating food. Stop trying to insult me I don't care what you think or feel or do. You can be as scared and boring as you want. I'm on my way to the beach in a hour. Have fun hiding

It was ravaging Iran before it ravaged Italy. Doesn't change anything about where it ultimately came from but SCMP will go on carrying the CCP's water to seed doubt.

Not to mention scientists from different countries whose work is being reported.

Food contaminated with droplets of bodily fluid teeming with intact virus can infect you as easily as any surface could. Food prepared by an infected individual taking appropriate precautions is generally safe (especially if it's cooked).

Do not ingest a droplet of a stranger's body fluid teeming with intact virus. Whether that droplet is on an apple or a counter top or drinking straw, it's still a terribly stupid thing to do.

Understand?

Not only will you have a high likelihood of infection, you might even have poorer prospects by having a much higher initial viral load than someone who inhaled much smaller droplets from the air.

Dummy, I simply replied to what you said, here it is, your words, not mine:

Touching your face (news, your eyes are part of your face) can infect you through your eyes. Do what you do, don't spread bullshit in these threads. You're going to the beach! Haa! I happen to find the beach very very boring, always have. I'm not hiding. I have tons of things to do at home that are NOT boring. You think you're hot shit, but you're only half right, the 2nd half.

If you took this kind of attitude at one of the facilities I run, you would not be “making big money” very long, especially if you are a traveler. If you care about the patients you treat, do the things that keep them safe. Given your exposure to a population that this virus can impact very seriously, you should try hard to not get while you are off spending all that money you make. I could argue with you about the details, but your attitude shows a disrespect toward your patients, if you are working in a “medical” field. I talk with medical professionals hundreds of times a day and I have yet to hear one come across one with this kind of general disregard for safety. Most are in this field because they care more about others than themselves. Just sayin.

I never said I make big money I make less than 200k a year its nothing. I don't care about anyone but myself. I don't believe food is a source of the virus, do you? You talk with professionals hundreds of times a day?? Haha what do u talk with them for 10 second periods or are you exaggerating about everything you say??
