I think the filing date is still the same but the payment date (if you owe $ to the IRS) will be pushing back 3 months..ie. you don't have to pay until July 15, 2020.
No, filing date is pushed back 3 months. You're encouraged to file sooner, whatever that means.

I do feel there may be a second wave. Especially if the Olympics actually happen as planned. That is going to be a huge incubator for the virus to spread and then go to each country. The olympics are 2 weeks right? That's the incubation period of the virus. Nobody will know they have it until they get back to their home country. It's the perfect storm.
I would lay 2 to 1 odds the Olympics will not happen this summer. Not that I'd bet more than 50 bucks American! Just joshing, but yeah, I don't expect to sit here watching the Olympics this summer. Life as we knew it went thataway.

TPMS light came on when I was taking my brother to his car. We stopped by Kroger (grocery store) to use the free air pump they have but I asked my brother to grab some milk since we were there anyway. Oddly, they had restocked Cold-Eeze which they were sold out of two weeks ago. Milk is what they didn't have.

Are people seriously panic-buying perishable goods like milk?! Stupid. Luckily, my best friend is a Mayfield milk man. ;)

USA is now the 3rd country in the world with the most confirmed cases ...

Italy had almost 800 deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours: it's very VERY bad in Italy :(

Never seen NYC like this. It's a virtual ghost town. I used to go to the gym every day after I burned out my feet and legs from running 20+ miles every other day until October. Now the gyms are closed and I'm back on the streets. Love the fact that there are no tourists. Personally, I got a cold last December. Then, for the past week I've had cold-like symptoms but no coughing or runny nose. If this is the Chinese virus (no way am I going to a hospital where I'm sure to get it), then it's no big deal. I've been running 10+ miles since Tuesday because no more gym and I have zero breathing issues. I'm assuming it's the Chinese virus because 1) I've already had the cold back in December 2) I've never had the flu or taken flu shots and 3) I rarely ever get the cold so...Anyway, my point is, and as has been pointed out many times, this virus is really no big deal if you're healthy. What the government should be doing is, instead of trying to prevent the spread among the general public and cratering the economy, they should be protecting those most vulnerable. Our reaction to this virus will destroy more lives than the virus itself. Hopefully, government comes to its senses sooner rather than later.

In the U.S., 705 of first 2,500 cases range in age from 20 to 44.

New C.D.C. data shows that nearly 40 percent of patients sick enough to be hospitalized were age 20 to 54.

“I have patients in their early 40s and, yeah, I was kind of shocked. I’m seeing people who look relatively healthy with a minimal health history, and they are completely wiped out, like they’ve been hit by a truck. This is knocking out what should be perfectly fit, healthy people. Patients will be on minimal support, on a little bit of oxygen, and then all of a sudden, they go into complete respiratory arrest, shut down and can’t breathe at all.”

He added: "I have a message for young people: You are not invincible, this virus could put you in hospital for weeks or even kill you. Even if you don't get sick the choices you make about where you go could be the difference between life and death for someone else."

Maybe. They certainly say for a lot of those infected it's "mild". Though forgive me if I don't attach any significance whatosever to your slightly-self-praising self-diagnosis (I'm betting it's a cold - you can get more than one of them).

I'm also inclined to reject your mildly-fascistic "I'm fine, lock up those old or sick folks" attitude.

And on the other hand there are stories like this

simply untrue, all of it. you're an incurious, irresponsible, ill-informed whackadoo.

shouldn't you instead be making posts asking advice on how to murder your girlfriend? that's what you're known for around here, anyway.

Wonder if there is a link between Covid-19 infections in the young and vapes.
Could just be due to riskier behavior within the last 2 weeks and not practicing social distancing. Think about the median time to onset of symptoms coupled with when lockdowns started to go into place. The current crop of those being hospitalized likely got the virus pre-lockdowns.

Well... they are saying that one of the reasons so many older folks are dying in Italy is because many of them were smokers and therefore had some pre-existing lung damage from that.

I'd imagine that hardcore vapers have the same issue.

For sure, vaping would almost certainly contribute to more severe illnesses (if the individual was a vaper). I was speaking of just the general premise of young people getting sick and how that may have occured - the current crop of sick people got infected before the quarantining stuff really ramped up.

And Chinese visa workers....imagine that.

I would look for a link between young people and stupidity. It's a lot more dangerous for the old and sick, so younger people are more likely to feel indestructible and to not give a shit about common sense. "So what if I get it, it's just like a cold. Let's go clubbing!".

Forgot to mention this earlier:
Saw an abandoned backpack on the ground next to the free air machine at Kroger (grocery store). Sticking out of it was a cardboard + Sharpie sign that said "Lost job. Need help." The backpack looked new except for a thick layer of pollen which tells me it was abandoned earlier today (Georgia's pollen is laying on thick right now).

Someone who had been doing that for long would probably keep up with their backpack better than that so I figure it's likely someone who lost his job due to the virus and not your usual bum who just doesn't want to work. :(

I really hope he abandoned it to leave with someone who can help.

I'd imagine that hardcore vapers have the same issue.

Why would either of you assume that? The damage from smoking is not from the nicotine, and a lot of vapes don't even have that. There have been issues that require regulation (bad formulas=popcorn lung), sure, but it's mostly hysteria and theatrics.

Not a vaper in case anyone thinks I'm just defending my vices. Just thinking critically.

Rent is generally due on the first of the month - as crazy as this current situation is, I find it hard to believe that someone is magically suffering to the point of homelessness over the course of 3 weeks.....

On top of that, the eviction process is definitely going to be a nightmare right now....

But hey - maybe I'm wrong....

There are a shocking number of people who are one paycheck away from being on the streets. I find it easy to believe that this created a perfect storm for some of them and that they're suffering to the point of homelessness with no magic involved.
