I have no idea but that's a different issue isnt it?

I guess I wasn't clear. I figured letting trans boys in the boys bathroom was more controversial and putting red boxes in the boys bathroom was implying that they were encouraging trans boys going to boys bathrooms.

I think the upshot of putting tampons in the boys bathroom is that tampons are going show up pretty much everywhere, at least for the first few weeks.

What's wrong with the phrase "period poverty"? Its a bit trite yeah but plenty of kids struggle to buy sanitary products, particularly if they find it difficult to talk to their parents about this sort of thing.

How the fuck has providing free sanitary products in schools become the slightest bit controversial?

They should not be confused as their parents should be informing them about puberty and such. They should also provide their daughters with sanitary supplies, and the kids should not have to provide these things for themselves. I do understand the need for them being available in schools.

I did find it funny to call it out as "Period" Poverty... when it is just plain old poverty.

If I can't afford a Prime Rib am I suffering from Prime Rib Poverty?

Sounds to me like some are misunderstanding that "trans boys and men" are going to have been born female, and therefore, likely to have periods. They aren't saying the opposite: that people born males will have periods.

Maybe some don't like the fact that schools have to deal with having transsexual students and teachers in the first place- but if it's a fact that they do- then it's only logical it has to be addressed now and then.

I just don't get why this issue lights such a fire under some people's asses. WHY do people care so much what gender another person wishes to live their life/ be recognized as?

Most things I like to look at from a logic standpoint, not emotion that doesn't actually remedy anything. (And too many issues are emotion-driven and practically logic-devoid.)

Getting bent out of shape over the gender-identity of other people is completely illogical. There's no 'solution' to it other than just leave other people be, and stop fretting over them. There's no 'slippery slope' to leaving people alone to be who they are. It's not affecting you or your kids. Other rational adults must sometimes address the fact that transgendered people are a reality, and discuss them in guidelines, rules, laws, whatever. The whole, 'who uses what bathroom/shower/gym whatever' and that whole line of bunk is BEYOND idiotic.

I think that not being able to afford sanitary products during your period is probably a bit more of an issue than not being able to afford your steak of choice.

Daily mail has always been like this. It's why certain people (me!) get pissed off when people use them as a source.
They are just a bunch of lying bastards who will post any old controversial bollocks to sell papers. They have no redeeming features as a news source at all!
Well, it's the flame to moth UC.

And they're tasty. :)

Did you watch the first video on that twitter link? Your pic goes against everything Fox is telling us!

I can't decide whether my favourite bit in the first video is the guy doing this nervous laugh combined with the facial expression that says, "this is no laughing matter!", or when the lady says that she couldn't tell "what" the gingerbread people were because "obviously they weren't wearing any clothes", or when she described it as good news that some people are getting really angry about non-gendered gingerbread biscuits.

I haven't managed to watch the whole of the second video yet but the lady seems to be describing how she was radicalised by non-gendered gingerbread biscuits.

Prosthetics improve their quaility of life.

Presenting as trans / surgery, etc improve the quality of life for people suffering from gender or body dysmorphia.

I support anyone’s right to make medical decisions for themselves and I have no problem with making the small concessions required for them to function in society.

I mean quite frankly handicap parking spaces are a bigger and more frequent concession I have to make since it impacts me every time I have to park. Trans people presenting as a different sex/gender than they were born to or society expected of them only impacts me by agreeing to call them by the name and pronoun they wish - which is basic fucking politeness.
Handicapped people are a good analogy. Our society did not always accomodate the handicapped. Now we have parking spaces, infrastructure and building codes that place a minimal burden on the rest of society, but greatly increases their quality of life.

I have no problem with the politeness aspect of it. I call people by their preferred pronouns. I don’t care if there are tampons in the men’s locker room.

The only thing I don’t agree with is letting mtf trans compete against biological women in competitive sports. Men on average have physical and biological advantages, which is why sports are not coed.

I also don’t have much use for parents into the whole gender neutral fad, and I also think some thought has to be given to the age of consent for reassignment surgeries and hormone treatments.
