Just bought a Decent Vaporizer, E-Juice now

Atlantis coils are about $20+ tax for 5 of them at my shop and they barely last a few days. They do work good though.

My friend bought an atlantis with the subohm battery about a month and a half ago and just now is thinking about buying new coils, it came with 2 total, so he got minimum 3 weeks out of each coil, now he isn't a heavy vaper and he uses lighter juices with no nicotine, but still, a few days? That seems WAY too fast.

I use 70vg juice and its clear juice too. Not sure what happens or I keep getting duds but you can tell when they go bad because the flavor is subdued a lot and the vapor starts getting worse. That's when I just take them apart and build horizontal coils but those just end up leaking if you don't do it right.

Are you talking about store bought coils or your rebuilds? Cause...that ain't right.

Well I guess I am a heavy vapor when I'm home, but I still have 3 left so I'll stick another one on there and try to get more than 2 weeks out of it. The last one just must have been bad but I kept using it for over a week.

Store bought Atlantis bvc heads. I think I got 2 weeks total out of one of them. Not sure what I did though.

I've heard the Atlantis coils are hit and miss as far as if they are good or duds. Don't get me wrong, I really like the Aspire Nautilus Mini, I've got a couple floating around here and it was my go to tank for quite a while, but I think they slightly missed the mark with the Atlantis. On the other hand, I was a bit hesitant about getting the Subtank as I'd had some Kanger Aerotanks and Genitanks as well as the Protank 3 and none of them wowed me, less flavor than the Nautilus and I didn't like the overall vape as much.

But then I had a friend buy the Subtank and from that first pull, I was hooked. I ordered one online and all my other gear has sat on a shelf since. This same story is true for a couple of our other buddies; once they tried it, they got one. Gotta love how fast the tech evolves in this industry, before long I'm sure we'll all be singing the praises of the next big thing!

Edit: PS if the red rings aren't to your taste on the Subtank, Kanger is going to be releasing very soon colored o-ring replacements in colors of your choosing.

Is anything getting inside the coils? One thing I don't like about the design is the wide mouth on the tip lets lint/whatever else is in your pockets get into the coils.

No I usually don't stick my mech mod and tank in my pocket I always just take the battery out and let it sit up.

Also if you rebuild the kanger subtank coil, does it have to be over .5 ohms? I prefer .5 and below. I usually do 7 wraps of 24g kanthal. I feel like if I get the subtank I'll mostly use the rta portion of it.

You can rebuild the OCC coil to whatever you like but what a lot of people do is simply re-wick them. Once it gets to a point you don't like, pull the cotton out the sides and simply slide a new piece in. But if you want to rebuild, you certainly can. I haven't done one of the OCC coils (yet) but I'm sure I will. Then again, with how the .5 performs, you may be surprised, and that's a good thing.

I also use Max VG juice produced by a local business that sells to quite a few other shops. My favorites so far are Mt. Voltage, Trill, Eve's Rain is one I'm just got but tasted promising in the store, and Watermelon Gum. yum yum

I love the flavor and vapor but I used to go through 30ml per 2 weeks not including weekends now I go through about 60ml in two weeks due to the Atlantis and my RDA.

I'd go with the Mini. The Nano doesn't come with an RBA section and the full size has slightly less airflow through the RBA. That being said, you cannot go wrong with the regular or the Mini.

If you're going for looks, go with the Mini as it's the same 22mm size as your Stingray. The regular, at least IMHO, would look goofy. Just my two cents.

Edit: With the regular Subtank you have to switch out the top cap to use the RBA, with the Mini you do not.

Sometimes with factory coils, if you flood them or accidentally burn them (easy with these new cotton ones) then you have to toss it. You could mess around with rebuilding it, but its harder than a real RTA. Dry burning and replacing the cotton on my kayfun takes a little over 5 minutes and I do it once a day. However, if something goes wrong with the build, like if I just don't like it or want to change it for some reason, it only costs me another 5 minutes. Each time you do that with a pre built, its a $2-$5 fee. Factory tanks are like cells phones and the coil heads are the subscription.

Eleaf Lemo. Its been all the craze lately because it performs like a damn dripper. I don't have one, but you might check it out. I'm never going back to factory clearomizers. The RTA world is just too good.

I forgot to mention, the benefit of an RTA, for me specifically, is being able to change the wick daily and dry burn the coil for no cost. I use the same coil for weeks sometimes. This keeps flavor perfect all the time. No cross flavor contamination and the coil doesn't have too long to get gunked up.

Yea the mini looks good enough and hopefully the RBA is not hard to use meaning too small and stuff. I figure I'll get good use out of this since I can just pop on the RBA then the tank and not have to worry about weather my coil is bad or not.

Yeah the sub tank mini does look pretty nice. I love the colored o-ring options and the device looks gorgeous based on photos and reviews. It has an RBA mode, so you get best of both worlds. If I was to buy a clearomizer, it would be that sub tank mini and no other.

I would have time to screw them into a deck and load in some cotton, but I really dont feel like buying an ohm meter, kanthal, etc and build my own (I have done it before, I just hate fiddling with that shit). $5 for a pack of 10 seems reasonable. Can't imagine you'd need more than that in a month or two.

The Sigelei 50w should fire down to 0.2 ohm and the battery should be good for 0.2 or even a little lower, so 0.25 should be fine.

You should be fine with that sigelei. I wanted a box mod as well but I was waiting for the eleaf 50w mod, only thing is the battery is built in so I just got a mech mod instead. I don't even use an ohm reader. There is an app called steam engine I use on my phone. Tell it what guage wire you use and what you want your target resistance and then it will tell you how many wraps to do.

Are you using a mechanical? I use an online coil wrapping calculator to target ohms, and its accurate. My mod also reports resistance. Wrapping the coil is literally a 30 second operation.
