Specifically said software in my post. Nothing about hardware. We already know android has all the selections and specifications one could ever want in a phone. You android users have made everyone well aware of that, time and time again ;)

Some of you may think the ability to create a widget that can turn off power, bluetooth, wifi, etc quicker may be a feature. I consider that manually fixing a bug. That bug being the crappy battery life associated with android software.

Gasp, is it possible for an Android phone to last more than 12 hours with full brightness and all sync options on, with a 3 hour phone call with tons of display use and with the battery starting at 80 %?

How is this possible?

So will this iCloud/iMessenger service be a part of your data plan or separate like BBM plans?

Droid X is really the only Android phone with good battery life, its also the only phone to beat the iPhone 4 in 3G talk time.

Other than talk time however....the iPhone4 beats all smartphones in all scenarios in battery life tests.

The market also thought this was a me-too announcement apparently...

That's not so much a response to what Apple announced, more of a market axiom "Buy on the rumor and sell on the news."

Someone I know very well may have done just that today :ninja:

Account Alert Mon Jun 06 11:08:06 2011 Sell 525 AAPL Executed @ $345.0845
Dear This is Spartaaaa,Account: xxxx-xxxx Your Day sell order for 525 AAPL at market price was executed at $345.0845. See order # 394 for details.

Back on topic though, I like the new notifications a lot, also, Apple's iCloud does away with the need to purchase and sync your music. Pretty cool to buy something or scan the barcode of your ripped music and have it pushed to all of your devices.

Free email with no ads is going to be pretty nice too, especially if I can beat my cousin to getting my name as an email address on me.com

I'm not sure where the Twitter integration came from, I have a Twitter account, but don't use it that much, it's sort of irritating...

Actually sold a bit more than that, stupid Thunderbolt wouldn't get a signal at work and I did the trade on a co worker's EVO, with her eTrade app, she freaked out...

I'll buy it back later, likely on Friday. Apple stock is typically at it's lowest on Fridays. When I pull it off correctly, I gain some shares every time. I've been pretty lucky for the last year or so...

Apple's on the right track with what it showed today, they won't win over any Android users, but certainly gave Apple owners a reason to stay....

A 4G LTE iPhone with an unlimited data plan 4" screen, and a dual core CPU would be pretty sweet.

If they make the iPhone5 with a 4.3" screen I'll consider it. Otherwise no... I am never going back to a 3.5-3.7" screen again.

I can respect your opinion man, but damn those screens are just mammoth. Those aren't phones they are personal viewing devices or something. I think the iPhone is just the right size... glad they dumped the original form.

LOL, so you showed 1 example of an Android phone and thats suppose to represent all Android phones.
Why are you even bother to dispute that Android phones have notoriously bad battery life ?? Its a known fact.
I'm using a Vibrant now that rooted with a custom ROM and battery life is still bad.
I just got back from a 14hr road trip and I ran through 3 batteries.(still wasn't enough.)

HTC phones have horrible battery life, my Motorola Droid 1 had really good battery life. But I might be mistaken on the HTC thing. Because I posted a thread about my EVO's horrible battery life and people on here were claiming they get 12 hours of fairly constant usage out of theirs.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong *SHRUG*

I'm sorry, you don't seem to understand that I've used Google Navigation for at least a year and it is basic beyond belief. It is inferior like a Corolla is inferior to a Ferrari. Simple. Does this go over your head?

You have used something you consider inferior for a year instead of spending $80 on a real GPS program? Just add it to the price of the phone? Or is that idea too far over your head?

Battery life can be amazing or it can be crap. If you know what you are doing, its amazing. If you are clueless, its crap. This is with no juicedefender or anything turning data off during the day. Phone had data (3g) radio turned off at night while sleeping. Relatively light use over the course of 4 days with several hours of calls, and 3 hours of screen on time using automatic brightness.

So you have basically the same phone as me and it takes you 3 of the exact same size batteries I use to make it 14 hours. Your phone setup must be DISASTROUS, that is if I believed for a second what you said.

Yes, that is a possibility I guess. If you turn on GPS are constantly downloading data and maybe streaming music the battery of course will die quickly. What phone out there can make use of 14 hours of GPS use and downloading maps constantly though?

As an Android user, I use those features all the time and it has nothing to do with battery life. In fact, I consider my current phone's (Droid X) battery life to be excellent. The widgets are useful for when I am pairing my bluetooth headphones with my ipod touch, for example, because otherwise, they will auto-pair with the Droid X and then the connection will fail, everytime. The widget to turn off the bluetooth in a couple seconds is very handy.

Another scenario is when you have a wi-fi hotspot and it might need authentication before the connection works, and turning off the wi-fi to remain on 3g data is useful.

I am personally waiting for the next iphone, and I may get one. But for now I'd rather go with Page Plus so I can afford to put more cash towards my student loan payment, and at the present time one of the best phone Verizon offers that will work is the Droid X, and the 4g phones status with page plus are unclear, and would be pointless anyway, and the Iphone is a definite no-go.

It's like Sam Kinison yelling at you when you get a notification. .

That would be fucking awesome.

I like Google Music. No need to drag and drop anything, I just take all my music with me. :awe:

One of Android's biggest advantages is not being tied down to something like iTunes. You have easier control over your own media.

All of Android music apps(save MixZing, as far as I can tell), even Google Music, have the same failing: They don't let you set specific folders to only look in for Music, and instead scan and play everything on the damned device unless you have a .nomedia file in the folder, which prevents the system from seeing that folder for ringtones. So with any app except MixZing I'm rockin' along and suddenly one of my ringtones, or a random app sound/noise plays at earsplitting volume.

Fuck you media scanner, fuck you.

Put a .nomedia file in any folder you want ignored. ES file explorer will let you create them. Also I believe that there are apps that will do it for you but I just do it by hand.
