Sorry Don, I just hate blanket statements, especially when they are off the mark...while I won't disagree the religious right has some pull over the likes of Walmart and such, generally the democrats have been more adamant about brodcast media and censorship...like I said, lieberman and Gore did alot to stifle the voices of a few artists and both are flagrant left wingers.

Oh, and it isn't a blanket statement to say that "Democrats are all for censorship?" I dislike Joe Lieberman because he is, in my view, a religious zealot, but your quote is substantially about William Bennett, a "moralist" hypocrite who is the furthest thing from a Democrat. Moreover, the FCC, not Joe Lieberman, are the ones convening multi-million dollar investigations into Janet Jackson's breast, and scaring people like Clear Channel into actions like this. As I said above, I am not interested in a political debate, because there are assholes and idiots (and, fortunately, a few people with some common sense) on both sides of the aisle. Anyone who is in favor of a priori censorship is no friend of mine, no matter how he votes.

Hehehe. Lieberman and Al Gore's wife would hardly be considered Liberal Democrats. They are Republicans masquerading as Conservative Democrats.

Thanks a lot JANET. YOU AND YOUR FVCKIN BOOB has done more damn damage in the last 3 weeks, than I could of ever of imagined!!!

I Really give it a 50-50 odds if Howard is still on air by the end of the year. If he goes on Sirus, that would be the only reason I'd pay for it!
You've got to be freakin' kidding me. Janet Jackson didn't do JACK SQUAT! It was the religious psycho freaks that make up 90% of this country that voiced their outrage over a boob on TV, which in turn put enomous pressure on the FCC to take action. Well guess what you have now, OVER REACTION. This is NOT about Howard Stern! You could like or dislike him, that shouldn't be the concern here. The concern should be you being stripped little by little of your freedom of speech. And if you are looking for the source of the problem, you'll find religion at the root. Just like it always has been throughout history.

Dude he is right. Janet was the straw that broke the camels back that put the chip on the FCC's shoulder.

What are you talking about??? Howard is the best... he has the more listeners than most stations. Don't listen to it if j00 don't like him.

I think he's funny and it's always entertaining to listen to him.

Name one decent morning show that even comes close to being entertaining. At least Howard Stern is entertaining. All the rest suck ass. I'd rather hear music than the inane babble of most FM radio DJs.

BTW-I vote republican and I'm not at all religious.:D

I am not a big fan of Stern. But I do not want to be forced to live in a world that the prudes deem to be safe for a three year old.

These fvckin religious zealots trying to turn the clock back to the 1950's scare the sh!t out of me. If you don't like what's on the radio or tv, go read your bible and leave us alone. I'm a grown ass man and I should have the right to listen and watch whatever I want. Time for Bush, Ashcroft, & Michael Powell to go.

Bababooey :D

I listened to the entire show, I didn't hear any bad words. This is too much, time to get the republicans out of office.

Well, even though the republicans have nothing to do with what Howard Stern says (or doesn't say, or says and gets edited, etc.), and Clinton did sign the legislation that made these horrible mega-media oligopolies like Clear Channel possible (worst thing Clinton did--he should have vetoed that bill and told them to rewrite it in order to leave our finite public airwaves alone), I still say it's time to get the republicans out of office. At least Bush is hanging himself with the whole anti-gay thing.

After Janet Jackson showed the world that women have nipples....

Never mind I can not continue this attempt at parody.

yeah... anti-gay thing... its a diversion... wake up dude. No congressional or state legistlature would pass that law. Who'd be stupid enough.

Yeah, did you watch the C-span congressional hearings with the chairman of Viacom and infinity broadcasting CEO's? It was hilarious, the debate was ridiculous. Of the 60 MILLION who saw the super bowl, 200,000 wote a letter to the FCC about Jackson's boobs. That .19% was REALLY doing us a favor and really interpreting the outrage in our minds. :| BS man.. when did .19% ever accomplish anything? That's what gets me worried man... interest groups just messing with people and taking my own voice as theirs.

Why because you find him offensive so you believe that others who don't should be denied from listening to him?

He probably listenes to every Stern imitator out there. Probably he's in mourning because the biggest Stern clone of them all, Bubba the Love Sponge finally got canned.

I don't like the censorship thing, but I think he sucks. If he never airs again, works for me, but not for this reason.

What some people don't realize is that it's the PUBLIC airwaves, and yes, your three year old kid can tune in and hear some stuff no three year old should hear. People should not have to limit their children's exposure to the radio. Nobody cares what you listen to on satellite because it's not PUBLIC airwaves.
It's not anyone imposing their values on you, it's exactly the opposite in my view. It's these kind of hosts imposing their LACK of values onto the public airwaves. There's a reason why there's cable TV, do we need "cable" radio too?
I'm not specifically talking about Howard, I listen to the show sometimes. But I see where people are coming from in being upset.

Yeah he got old for me a long time ago (mid 90's). I might hqave to tune him in again now that he is getting all the Fund A Mental Cases panties in a wad. When he is crusading against censorship is when he is at his best!
