/facepalm

Get it through your heads now: there is not a single GOP politician on the planet that isn't a diseased-minded piece of shit. So Amash might be the highest quality, most polished piece of shit we know about, he is still a piece of shit. He will vote the wrong way on almost every single issue just like every single other piece of shit.

I don't get it. What the fuck is wrong with people today? Y'all still haven't figured out that what politicians say doesn't mean shit. All that matters is what they do and how they vote. AND THE CRITICAL LEGISLATION THAT THEY STONEWALL.
As Pelosi's VP he will have little or no power. His position is purely symbolic. He doesn't get a vote unless tie break required in the Senate. If his people can fall for Trump they will buy into JA as VP as a goodwill gesture. Besides it blunts the argument Democrats are all far left.

As this goes through the impeachment inquiry, there will be the WH and others who will stonewall
the House's efforts to testify. With cheeto and his cronies, that will be a fact.
This ex-congresswoman, Elizabeth Holtzman from the Judiciary committee, during the Watergate prosecution,
has the right temperament to deal with them and play hardball.

Watergate-era Dem urges party to go after Trump on all fronts
"She continued: “We didn’t just impeach Nixon for a cover-up. We had a many-pronged charge with regard to the cover-up, but then we also had abuses of power, illegal wire tapping, the enemies list, the break-in to Ellsberg’s psychiatrist. This was not one thing, but a president that had gone amuck, and that is what created the danger to democracy.”

The same case can be made with Trump, Holtzman believes, but says that there is work to be done by Congress. “I think the case is very strong at this point, it’s just a question of can they put it together and acquire the additional evidence that needs to be acquired.”

"She is not impressed so far by the questioning of recent witnesses Corey Lewandowski and Joseph Maguire, who she saw as “stonewalling” the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees. Representatives need to “get a lot tougher,” Holtzman said, and use such tools as contempt charges, fines, “warnings that they will draw the most serious adverse inference from refusal to cooperate that they can.” Should all that fail, she added, Democrats in Congress should “get out some fresh sheets, clean out the [detention] room in the Capitol and arrest them.” "
You know Pelosi should very deliberately and very publicly prepare their detention area so everyone knows someone’s ass is getting thrown in there.

Sorry, but I am tired of trying to work with Republicans or trying to reach out to Republicans. Bottom line, fuck Republicans. I'll listen to them the day they have a policy position that isn't the exact opposite of the right thing to do. This is a lesson we all should have learned in 2010. Republicans will wipe their ass with your olive branch and then beat you to death with it.

Not that I disagree with you but sometimes as a leader you have to do shit like this to heal the country. Not going to happen anyway but thought it was interesting idea.

Normal for this President, not normal for any sane person.

What's "special" about this one is that Trump presents a lie that Schiff is supposedly reading from the transcript verbatim but Schiff was very specific that his statement was "in essence". If Trump had a brain bigger than a rotted peanut he might have argued against the characterization, but nooooo, he went full unreality and untruthful mode in the face of factual statements on the public record.

That is grounds for the 25th to kick in which has proved as useful as tits on a boar hog.

If the "transcript" was so damning and a smoking gun, why would Schiff need to invent a version of the information? Is he trying to get a screenplay out for a new mafia movie?

You mean the words Crowdstrike and DNC server?

You keep saying this. When is Trumps (your) Justice Department going to do something about it. I’ve been waiting for 2+ years.
Stop repeating stuff that makes no sense like an NPC. Tell me when the Justice Department is going to do something.

yet look at the republicans in here, already desperate to defend it...merely a day removed from demanding evidence.

Now they have the donkey himself admitting to this, publicly, provided concrete, unambiguous evidence that he did exactly that, now they are dreaming about tan suits and mustard because "goddamnit something is not right in my bubble!" It must be painful for GOPers when they get smashed with the cudgel of inarguable reality.
Damning evidence? You are really just a fucking stupid bag of dicks.

You need to get rid of the cancer before you can heal. Inviting a little bit of the cancer back in is the opposite of healing.

Removing the metaphors, Republicans and liberal-hating "independents" will never accept liberal ideas or try to compromise with liberals. As far as they are concerned we are enemies of America and any attempt to work with us is treason. Even if you could prove to them that one of our policies works (you can't) they will still assume we are just doing it to buy votes or line our pockets at the expense of America. "See? This Democrat owns shares of a green-energy company that is making money while cleaning up our atmosphere and contributing to a better planet! Corruption at the most egregious level! Must replace with GOP representative that owns several fossil fuel companies before we become Venezuela!"

Brandon, I’m trying to help you out here.
This is from a trusted news source for you.
The partial transcript that was released. Partial as in the White House didn’t release the whole thing but this is what they released in entirety.

It’s a pretty easy 5 page read.

What Schiff did was to clearly state that what he said was a characterization, which you may or may not agree with. As I said Trump might have taken issue with that, but no way was he that honest. Instead he lies outright and makes a claim that Schiff did not.

But you avoid the issue in front of us under discussion and that is why is the released document so damning and a smoking gun that Trump has to invent that lie to attack Schiff and the facts of the matter?

Here's my characterization: "I hate Schiff so much that I'm going to lie about him and even make myself out to be completely unglued and ignore the truth of what happened in an open forum".

Shiff didn't tweet crazy crap like Trump nor did he represent his statement as a quote. Trump lied, you divert.

There is no helping. To go all biblical here,

"And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not".

I think the principle applies to many here, Brandon being one.

It's now come out that almost immediately after the call the CIA general counsel forwarded it to the Department of Justice because it was a potential crime.

Barr buried it.
