I don't like steampunk but I loved Bioshock. Hopefully this is a good game but the violence video made it look way too easy. Too many powers and weapons. The stealth video made it look lame, you're out in the open and still nobody can see you, like in Human Revolution. Wish they had the stealth capabilities of Splinter Cell.

I also thought the AI was dumb as rocks.. huge fight with swords in a room, kill two people and the guy on the balcony doesn't hear anything. Still hoping its a good game.

Well it is a Bethesda game. In Elder Scrolls you can always snipe one guy with an arrow and his companion 5 feet away will go "Who there?!, there's a body" walk around looking for 5 seconds and then forget it ever happened.

It's developed by Arkane Studios (Arx Fatalis, Dark Messiah), not Bethesda.

The main thing I was worried about was length, but after I read this article it is what pushed me over to order.

From one of the level designers he said

"My ghost and no kills play through took 22 hours. That’s without exploring every nook and cranny, and knowing the solution to everything beforehand. It should take more thorough/inexperienced players a bit longer than that."

Yup, embargo lifted so all the info will flood now.

I love this part from the Joystick review

Killing a mark is forthright and satisfying, but what many will find far more elegant is what I like to call "the fate worse than death." During each mission, a side story is introduced, allowing the player to set wheels in motion so that the mark will instead live out their days in agony or shame.

Keep in mind they're playing the console version; graphics won't look quite as good, but gameplay is identical of course.

I'm not gonna lie, I shrugged off this game initially, but man it looks really good. I'm already gonna be pre-occupied with XCOM tomorrow though so I'll wait for a sale on this one.

Yep this definitely looks good!

saw this this last page of the thread yesterday and watched some video and read some stuff. needless to say i pre-ordered it right away (GMG with coupon!)

Umm..some reviews are out. It's getting great marks:

I thought the reviewer was doing voice acting for the LOL when I pushed play for the IGN review of this game... I soon realize it's not to be. The guy has the most annoying voice coming out of a grown man's mouth I've ever heard. I pity the guy, I really really do.

I'm a weak weak man, I broke down and preordered it for $45 from GMG sigh lol

I broke down and preorderd from newegg last august when they had it 20% off. With the holiday I probably won't get it until thursday. At least a new walking dead is coming out wednesday.
