He came after me of course, but I already had a huge lead...so I kept it hammered, took the next exit, pulled into a Wal-Mart parking lot, and prayed. He shot past the wal mart, lights and siren blazing. I then ran inside and pretended to shop for a little bit...i needed new underwear and a lottery ticket. Haven't gone quite that fast since, but I still do open it up now and then.

I've been up to ~125ish in the 840. No story behind that one.

lol that's awesome, if he caught me I would just say I had to take a giant diarrhea shit and was speeding to the nearest toilet.

Around 105mph in my 99 Saturn SL2 on 480 East. This was about eight years ago when I was coming home from work one day. Haven't been anywhere near triple digits since.

I've gone faster than that on a bicycle on a major roadway. Can't say I'd recommend it though.

If I'm not mistaken, he's still on his permit period.

~145 in a '89 camaro, not mine. Deserted, very straight 2-lane highway.

~180 on a 85... maybe '86 Ninja 900, also not mine. Another deserted, very straight 2-lane highway.

132 while in the Petty Driving Experience, in a NASCAR car. They say they were retired race cars, kept in near-race performance states... I'm not sure I believed that but they were pretty fast.

Speedometer buried in a '67 Mercury Montego w/390.

Going through the desert in Nevada in 1969, we got passed like we were in a 30mph zone by a Ferrari.

I hit 100 mph in a 1993 Corolla. Just to say I'd done it.
Can't remember how far I pushed it but it got a bit hairy. Though maybe that was just me.
Speedometer goes to 110 mph.

Yup it would. An insurance person once told me that the only 2 excuses you can use for speeding are bathroom emergency and medical, eg family member is in hospital or something. Also if you have a plane ticket and are late for your flight you might be able to get away.

I once got a 200 $ ticket for driving on the carpool express lane alone, I went to court and said I had diarrhea to the judge and a whole courtroom of people (almost cracked up too telling my story), anyways I got off with a 30 $ fine and no demerit points.

120 MPH, I-95 in Connecticut (at night), Saab 9-3 rental. 'Twas a little scary as it was dark and the front end started to get a little squirrelly, so I let off pretty fast.

somewhere around 100mph. I wasn't driving. Fastest I ever went when I drove was around 80-85mph. That was downhill and then my mother told me to slow down... and harassed me about it of course. :'(

I got my old camaro up to 135 on a long, straight, single lane onramp on the I-5. No place for any police to have seen it unless they were in the air. I also went 125 one time on a really quiet country road. These were after spending about 5k on parts rebuilding the engine/rear end so I wanted to see what it could do.

I can't remember any time in the last five years when I went over 85, except for once two years ago when I managed to get pulled over for 88 in a 75 in colorado.

You guys crack me up... especially the people who haven't broken 100mph!!

I've pegged it in my old 85 crown vic, went 110-ish in my old 89 crown vic (ex cop car, 140mph speedo)
100 in other cars

and 132-ish in my 1996 impala ss
Hell, when I was staying at my parents house, I would go 100mph in a 40mph zone on the way home at night almost daily. Never once had a problem steering around the deer :)
At that time I did 120 in a 60 on the freeway home probably a couple of times a week...

Also... to the people who haven't gone over 80mph.... Have you never driven on the freeway? I've gone 90 in the passing lane just going with the flow of traffic...
