Do you have any idea how much the fine would be if one were caught going 100MPH? I got a pulled over 2 weeks ago going 86 on I-95, the cop gave me a break and wrote it up as 79, a $110 ticket. He told me a ticket@86 would have cost me $275!. Driving fast is fun as hell but be prepared to get seriously dry-sticked if your caught.
lol

Yes, I do.

Busted for 85 in a 55 in Oregon = $480.

35MPH or more over in Oregon = Reckless Driving.

I'm still going to open it up now and again. It's in my blood.

$480...oh the pain..one night on the way home I got annoyed at a panel truck and SUV that kept changing lanes in front of me so I opened her up and shot to 115 for 15-20 seconds then started to coast back down when I saw headlights approaching rapidly, wtf, no way a panel truck or old SUV can accelerate that fast, oh shit, it was a HP crown vic on a way to a call, had to have been @120-125. I was still going around 100 when he passed me, I almost shit my pants, luckily for me he had a bigger issue to deal with but it ended my 100MPH+ days..

I got lucky... I had to slow down because some car was in the way and literally around the bend was a speed trap...

Oh man.. :D I love stories like that though.

Yeah, that ticket hurt like a bitch. I wasn't even going 85. :frown:

I had just gotten my truck worked on, was heading to work.. decided to give it a few bursts to see what it was like.

Blew by some guy going 55 in the left lane... Got into a straight away, and opened it up again.. Little did I know, there was a motorcycle cop behind me the whole time. I knew he was there, but it was dark so I didn't know it was a cop.

I was just running out 2nd gear, which is 80MPH, when he pulls up along side me, looks at me, and turns on his lights. DOH!

He even admitted that he let the first ~80mph run go because the guy was going slow. lol.

Good times.

The fastest I've been on the highway here is a bit over 80km/h. I was passing 3 slow pokes and did not realize the fact that I was going over 20 the speed limit. They were going 50 (limit is 60) and I was in a hurry. Now going out of town the limit hits 80 so I've gone 100ish. I usually try to abide by the law though. Tickets are expensive, and it sucks to get demerit points. :p

Here if you go 20 over the speed limit its considered street racing. So you can be alone at 3:00am driving 60 in a school zone. That's street racing. LOL.

It's nice to have a fast car and all but you can't legally drive it at it's top speed anyway. I just have an old 98 buick lesabre and I can go way faster then the speed limit if I want to.

About 1am on a nearly deserted freeway here, I passed a slow car and opened up the M3. I let off a few seconds later when I realized it had effortlessly hit 140mph.

I have yet to do a top speed run in this car, and it has a lot more in it.

I think we have the most harsh speeding laws in North America, I don't know anywhere else where you do 50 km over and get 10,000 $ fine and car impounded for 2 weeks. You also have to pay impound fee's and storage of the car for those 2 weeks btw. It's funny because when the law went into effect early this year, the first month they nabbed 900 + people.

Btw 40 km over gets you 295 $ ticket, 10 more over gets you the doomsday penalty.

~140 mph on I-696 in my 1988 Trans Am, not long after I got it. I wanted to see what it could do :p. So, I opened it up. I crested a small hill...and there was a cop sitting there in the median, looking for speeders.

He came after me of course, but I already had a huge lead...so I kept it hammered, took the next exit, pulled into a Wal-Mart parking lot, and prayed. He shot past the wal mart, lights and siren blazing. I then ran inside and pretended to shop for a little bit...i needed new underwear and a lottery ticket. Haven't gone quite that fast since, but I still do open it up now and then.

I've been up to ~125ish in the 840. No story behind that one.
