Highway Speeds

I hit 95 on a straight section of highway near my house. The car was a 2000 Cavalier.

I don't think I'll be driving it anywhere near that fast again. The thing felt like it was going to come apart at the seams.

So is the poll how fast I was going when I got a ticket or how fast I've ever gone in any car. You have two questions in the post and no question in the actual poll...

When I got my speeding ticket, I was going 74 on the BQE. In NYC, the speed limit drops to 50mph for no reason on expressways/parkways; and the "bridge approach" to the Verazano has a speed limit of 45. That day, they had a few cops with LIDAR guns standing around a slight, blind bend in the road.

The worst was I had been going down to DC with a friend to visit my brother. On the way back up north, we were on the Turnpike and my friend was going 95 in my car. A cop pulls up behind us and motions for us to move over, just so that he could go faster.

When I got my Saab 900 way back in the early 90s, it was an 87 model IIRC, I had it upto 145 where the peg was, so I don't actually know. I didn't get a ticket, and thank God for long straight empty roads in West Texas.

Now I don't actually even own a car.

Fastest I ever got a ticket for was around 85. My ex got popped at 104, and managed to cry her way out of it. If the written warning didn't back up the story, I would have never believed it.
