*drools*

143mph in my '94 Maxima passing 2 semis trailing a geezer in his escort... two lane highway unfortunately. 172mph in my uncle's best friend's 2001 VIPER GTS

First time I did 120 MPH was on what are now the HOV lanes on I 395 between Shirlington and Springfield. Fortunately traffic in NOVA back then was in no way like it is now.

For me, typical highway speeds are usually between 0 and 85mph. I mostly just go with the flow of traffic. I don't like paying fines for speeding or extra on my insurance, so I try to keep myself within 20 over the speed limit.

In the past, I've taken my 300m to around 120 when the ECU's governor kicked in.
For sleds, I've taken my uncles 1973 Yamaha GP 440 to 65 or so mph (speedo was pinned)

Fastest when I was driving was 105mph in a '99 Ford Ranger with a 4-banger and 119hp (I was going down a really big hill with it floored). Fastest as a passenger was ~140mph in an '85 Corvette.

I'm amazed that the OP started his poll with 0-10mph and capped it at 101+.

fastest in a car was 110 in my moms toyota celica gts. im not real sure how i ended up that fast but i was clocked by a cop at that speed. on my motorcycle i got up to 119 before i got scared, the buttons on my silk shirt were coming undone. i still had a bit more engine, but slowed down regardless. if i ever do go faster it will be a bit safer.

I've gone faster than that on a bicycle on a major roadway. Can't say I'd recommend it though.

lol a friend of mine got a ticket between mesa and payson for speeding on his bike. he was "clocked" at 69 the cop said. he didnt like being laffed at tho, gave him the ticket. it was a huge hill tho, so there is a chance he could have hit that speed. my mom used to call it clutch hill, since lots of her friends and she had burned clutches on it. its still a sucky hill to go up when coming back to the valley. the down is fun tho.

131 mph for a ~2 mile stretch up on I-87 near Albany with no other cars around when I first got my 740iL. I cant imagine driving like that on a normal basis, like on the Autobahn or something. There were no other cars around and it was a fairly straight, wide road but jeezus one false move and you are toast.

hit the limiter in my GS400 @ 149mph

before that '90 SHO ~145mph going to Hilton Head, happened to pass a cop sitting in the median, from what I saw he must have been reading or something because his dome light was on and he didn't give chase, but it sure scared the shit out of me, not enought to slow down though.

i swear to god we had this exact thread going not more than 2 weeks ago.

driving: 95mph, 2002 BMW 540i ///M-pack, 101 south from Santa Barbara
passenger: 140mph, 1999 Lexus GS400, county road in northern AL

New question: How fast were you were going when you got caught speeding?

Funnily enough, 74 in a 65.

God damn GS Parkway trooper with a stick up his ass.

I've been 125 on my motorcycle and 120 in my first car that was a '88 Chevy Beretta GT.

I've never gotten a ticket for speeding but I was pulled over for going 110 in a 35 😛

I got let go though.

Was doing 85 in a 60 km/h street. Got pulled over cop gave me only a 10 km/h ticket which was 34 bucks and no demerit points, so it was cool. That was my only ticket.

Friend though did 108 km/h in a 50 km/h residential zone. Cop diden't even give him a ticket, just a wreckless endangerment charge and a court date.
