My old laptop finally ate it. I'm trying to scrounge for one on ebay for not too much coin that isn't completely thrashed.

That's tough. This time of year, it's probably best just to get something new. Especially if you want any battery life at all.

So far your observation is correct. I'm trying to spend less than $100 and keep getting outbid. Battery life isn't important as I'll keep it plugged in all the time.

I'm not in a rush to get it so I can wait for a deal.

It's expensive. Almost 5x the price of drywall.

I think I mentioned this earlier in the thread but use some 1/2" plywood and paint it. You can clean it easily, install hangers on it if you need to and it will take the abuse better than drywall.

I went through the thread and re-uploaded all the images to a new host. I think I got everything.

I sold the tubular control arms I took out of my truck and that will pay for the rest of the insulation I need. 8 more rolls.

I'm going to wait until April to do my Home Depot shopping since my credit card has a 5% cashback at HD for the 2nd quarter. The executive decision was made to do drywall. Rather than doing all the tape and mud work I'm going to put wood trim over the joints. I think it could look OK and maybe even not too prison-like if I paint them. Father-in-law did that in his garage and it doesn't look horrible. I'll recruit him to help with the install. Although with him "helping" it's mostly him doing the work and him telling me when he needs help.

Sorry for no pic update.

Plywood can also turn a small fire into a burned down garage where drywall wouldn't have.

We got the drywall up on the back wall. The 12' sheets minimizes the number of joints. I did the first round of filling the screw holes and will probably have it ready for paint by Monday.

Nice! That was the easy section to put up. Cutting out all of access holes will take a little more time.....

Its not that hard if you have a rotozip. Just mark out the centers and then hold the sheetrock up and pop the rotozip in and go around the box, takes about 5 seconds per box.

This is what we did. My father-in-law has the rotozip and we marked the location of the boxes on the first sheet (seen in above pic). Then zipped the holes and good to go. Did all 5 sheets to cover this wall in about an hour and a half.

I'm convinced one of these is the right color for my garage. I'm thinking the green card on the left, 2nd from bottom.

You will want a bright color to reflect light around. I would strongly discourage you from using a darker color like that. Off-white or light yellow would probably work better.

I generally stick with a light brown color myself. Though out of all those options I would go with the right green second from the bottom.

Wrong. They're ALL the right color. Horizontal stripes, same width as on the samples.

Well it won't be all of the colors but I'm going to do 3. Blue, white, and green. From top to bottom separated by the trim.

The insulation is almost done. I'm going to change some of the electrical before I finish it. Hopefully I can get the primer and paint up on the north wall this week. We'll see, I feel like crap. I yakked my guts out last night and probably shouldn't have gotten out of bed today.

Ya'll don't stagger your gyp-board joints in that neck of the woods?
