It simply amazes me how people obsess over what others are doing.
MYOB. If your life's purpose is trying to convince others to act as you think they should you're going to have a very bitter, unfullfilling life.

It's a few things:
-Food prepared at home is typically less... powerful... in flavor. If you stop eating fast food for a while and then run to Taco Bell, it's like getting punched in the mouth by a savory, greasy bag of salt. If you're used to Taco Bell, it can be hard to season up to your palate.
-Fast food requires almost no effort and is consistent in quality and quantity.
-It can be difficult to cook for one without being overly wasteful or producing far too many leftovers.
-Fast food is very quick and doesn't take up precious time that could be better utilized by sitting around waiting for something interesting to happen.
-Fast food is just like mom used to order and bring home before sitting you in front of the TV until bedtime.

Yeah, I worked there in 1995 and so. They fry them on big clamshell grills, stick them in steamers, then make to order on a prep table then nuke them in extremely overpowered industrial/commercial microwave ovens.

I eat my own home made meals 79 times out of 80 and thoroughly enjoy them. My family all did as well growing up, ordering pizza or going out was a very rare treat. Perhaps it has something to do with what you were raised on? When I was active still in jobs, I got a subway sub once a day at least, which seemed to me just as healthy as eating at home, and indeed it was, so not all fast food is a bad thing. Even when I worked at McDonald's and Hardee's I barely ate there - to this day I can only stand a few things from either place.
I already know I am an unusual woman, but I don't think I am so unusual in these habits/tastes. I don't understand people liking the crap that for example mcdonald's and hardee's serves. I do infrequent taco bell and dairy queen, but at taco bell, I get one of the more healthy items there, the grilled stuft burrito, which is not as good as home made food, but is much more nutritious then most of the other foods there - I get it though because I love how it tastes, and dairy queen has very nice salads and wonderful ice cream. Again both are a rare treat for me.

While I pretty much agree with the OP, I'll say he has a difficult task trying to find converts here among ATOT who time and time again has proven to be a population that is largely (not entirely) ignorant about food, conservative, racist, completely unconcerned with style or self-appearance ...

Do you get nosebleeds up on that pedestal you've put yourself on?
The elitism on this forum is just pathetic. And it's nearly eclipsed by the busybody meddling.
