Company of Heroes is the best looking RTS now, no ifs ands or buts...

Did the tutorial and the first little mission last night. Much more interesting and fun than SC, and they managed to include the tutorial in the demo instead of making you download lame movies from FilePlanet like SC :thumbsdown: Seriously, WTF was in that 1GB download for SC?! 😕

If you are into a story, C&C3. If you want massive battles, Supreme Commander.

I'd personally go with C&C since I love to reminisce about the olden days with my Tiberian Sun...I still have it too!

You can zoom just fine. Also, I've had no problems with my install so far.

Sorry, you can zoom like 20ft from the ground, that's nowhere near enough. In SupCom I can zoom all of the way out and see the entire map, AFAICT that just isn't possible with this C&C.

Exactly, and my demos been running about 5-6 hours with no problems now. Tis minimized now.

Not so here, once I was patient enough to let XP give me a dialog that says nv4_disp.sys wasn't operating properly any more but that takes like 5 minutes which is ridiculous. SupCom runs fine for hours on end so I say there's something wrong with C&CTW3.

Regarding the zoom, it'd be nice if it went out a bit more and you could customise how quickly it responds to the scrolling. I have to move the wheel a disproportionate amount to zoom the small range that's available. I changed the mouse scroll speed but quickly realised that wasn't controlling it when I started flying all over the map as soon as I touched the edges:laugh:

SupCom and C&C3, 2007 is turning out epic. This demo is flawless.

Who cares if you can't zoom out to see the whole map in C&C 3? None of the earlier C&C games had that feature (I'm talking about the 2D ones, never played the 3D crap so I don't know about them). The reason being is you don't really need it. Supreme Commander has it because of the size of the battles. Quite simply, they're two different games.

Yep, but dont be clever and try using S for the scrin - you'll have zero units and immediately lose the battle.

man, my demo must be different than the one everyone else has because i have no option to choose sides and like someone else mentioned destroying battleships, i never saw battleships. or got mammoth tanks in my campaign or tutorial.

there is another board for the campaign

It does not bring you to it automatically. After you beat the first board(not tut) play campaign again and you will play the second demo board.

I am talking about playing a skirmish. You can pick which side you are, but NOD is blocked out, if you press N it will let you pick NOD

ahh...i just assumed the prologue was just the video portion and then the play portion was the actual mission. will ahve to play through that then.

I just took over their base in skirmish with engineers.

I prefer GDI to NOD. However, I am most interested in playing as the Scrin (that alien race), which you can't in the demo.
