I'm having a lot of AI issues in my units. Sometimes my commando won't listen to me; he just keeps charging into a huge group of enemies when I'm clicking the other way.

Other than that, I can't wait till retail. I'm gonna be GDI because I love snipers and those zone guys.

thats what the minimap is for

After playing SupCom for a few days (weeks?) I've gotten used to zooming out all of the way, moving the cursor and zooming back in to see another portion of the map, you can't do that in C&C and it's extremely frustrating. And the fact that it's caused the nVidia drivers to crash (not sure who's really at fault there) isn't exactly a plus.

BTW, there is a way to play as NOD in the skirmish battle(no hacking). just click on your side(GDI or NOD) then press N

This also works for the computer and for the computer strategy.

I just took over their base in skirmish with engineers.

I prefer GDI to NOD. However, I am most interested in playing as the Scrin (that alien race), which you can't in the demo.

Soon, my friend, you shall learn the ways of peace through power!

I love the cutscenes for the past games and this one is just awesome too; an actual story complete with clips and great Sci-Fi actors.

How boring is it to read text in most RTS? C&C series FTW.

IMO The game is lacking a little bit compared to the previous games. I really miss walls, gates, and the EMP that the previous version had, although I'm not sure how well that would flow with this new faster paced game. To me it seems like the previous games still had more depth to them (More units, Subterranian units, Pavement to block that, etc..) It also seems like the scale of the map and the buildings are too big. Once it starts getting late in the game, it seems the building area starts to disappear quite quickly. I will definately miss the massive unit battles I had in the Tiberian Sun days, you get about 15-20 units and it fills the entire screen pretty much. All in all I am fairly ok with it. I have yet to see the Scrin so that will be interesting too.

Also, where the hell is the blue tiberium? :(

That was also years ago bro. This is 2007. Games evolve. The game isnt even out yet and your saying its lacking? Wait to play the full retail before passing judgment. This game looks insane, I cant wait to play full version in a week or two. I have a feeling alot of my hours will be spent on this one.

i played the 2nd campaign mission on medium/nomal difficulty. wow, the AI is relentless.

mammoth tanks are fvcking unstoppable! i pretty much destroyed the whole base with 2 of them. I started out with a few predators, a few apcs, and a few of those rocket launcher jeep things and some infantry. ended up with only the 2 mammoth tanks left and the one mammoth tank had like 99% health left and the other was closing in on 50%

Fight the brutal skirmish AI to know the true meaning of relentless and also the true meaning of cheating AI :p

Its the same as the hard AI except with cheats.

Yes, so do I!

Me as well. I'll be buying C&C3, unless it turns out to have integrated spyware or in game ads.

Company of Heroes is a fine game, but its WW2, again. I've seen far to many WW2 games to purchase any more. Its just not compelling.

I think I'll be passing on this. While somewhat fun, it is basically just like Tiberian Sun with a graphics upgrade. I'm glad I picked up Supreme Commander instead of waiting for this.

Don't forget this is only a demo. You naturally don't get access to the full range of buildings and units, otherwise it?ll take the spark away from buying the retail game. There will be a lot more unit/building availability in the real game.

are you sure about that? what you have access to now is pretty much the same as the other games. i think what we see now is all we get.

I'm pretty sure there are a few things missing, well, some buildings at least. When I took over the NOD base I couldn't build the obelisk of light.

Which apparently you can:

EDIT: Actually, scratch that. I don?t think I built any defence structures when I was NOD, so I think I?m actually wrong on that point.

There is a way to select NOD in Skirmish and when you do you can build the Obelisks, Temple of NOD & their awesome Warmech can cannibalise your own units to upgrade itself, it's pretty powerful to boot.

Its command & conquer for crying out loud. One of the most popular RTS games ever made. It will be hard for them to make it bad.

she is teh sex isnt she. its her eyes.

also

anyone experienced this as of yet?

playing the demo mission where you have to blow up the docks n stuff. i had 5 mamoth tanks ( i actually had to build about 20 coz i kept getting them blown up----yes i suck at RTS) and i called in some Air drop troops next to them

those dudes dropped in and then the mamoth tanks basically wipped them out in a fit of friendly fire. WTF is up with that?
