He's "good" because as an establishment Republican he served your interests, not ours.
The base wants to fight. Not placate Democrats.

I think he served your interests much better than you realize. He saved you from pointless fights that the base had no hope of winning and he saved the country from some of the extreme right's more foolish delusions like debt default.

The political reality here is that this Congress AND this President don't effectively lead or compromise. Let's get everyone on record here and move on imo...let the voters decide who best represents their interests next election.

Then how about a simple up or down vote "do you want to fund PP"
Our current representatives go out of their way to try to conceal votes. If a Government shutdown occurs everyone wants to state they had nothing to do with it if it fails and they all want to jump on the bandwagon if it succeeds.

So what happens now? The GOP ramroads 2000 bills with:

1. impeach obama
2. cancel aca
3. defund pp
4. attack iran
5. make islam illegal

And nothing happens until they get their way till hell freezes over?

And if Congress votes 'no' which is quite likely? What then?

Boehner was a horrible speaker of the house he needed to go. It's interesting to see that most people agree with that but they all have different reasons the funniest being from the righties who thought boehner caved to much to Obama. It just goes to show that righties not only don't know how to govern but that they also don't know how government works.

Hopefully this is the begging of the end of the extreme right in the Republican Party. It will get worse before it gets better though so get ready for a great show!

Then Obama will veto it. If they have enough votes to override his veto then Planned Parenthood loses its funding.

They want to enact a policy, so go try and enact that policy like adults.

You don't seem to be paying attention. But, by all means, carry on as if this kind of idiotic drivel somehow validates your world view makes you feel good about yourself.

I'm fine with this approach as well...six of one, half a dozen of the other...same outcome most likely.

I was not a fan but i do respect the man for his work. he was in a shitty situation. being the head of the GOP as it goes fucking insane has to be hard.

The threat of a government shutdown over PP baffles me. Is this something they want to shut the government down over?

My parents are Republicans and they think it's nuts. This is the one of the few times i have seen them go off on the GOP. though i admit its been the last 10 years lol. as the GOP slides farther into insanity the more willing they are to jump ship.

I jumped ship over a decade ago. I haven't voted for a republican for office in well over 10 years and I don't see myself voting for another anytime soon.

Wonder why it takes some people so long...

I'm the same way. I changed course in 2002. I actually voted for Dole and wanted McCain in 2000.

On the likely chance you've already forgotten...you're an idiot and will always be an idiot. Sad, but true.

If you had to assign blame for the gross dysfunction, how would you allocate it to:

Obama
Dems in the House
Dems in the Senate
Repubs in the House
Repubs in the Senate

Omg, he's crying again at his press conference.

IMO he's the epitome of a righty to me, thin skinned, thinks with his gut, puts his party first before country, and above all else, he's a giant pussy.

Ironically his likely replacement will be someone who supports amnesty (guess who almost half of his constituents are?).

Orange Americans may be sad to see him go, but I'm glad Boehnor will be removing himself from the agony of doing his job, and all the emotional torment it seems to have brought him. Maybe now life will produce fewer tears for him, and his love of cigarettes and golf won't play second fiddle to him pretending not to obstruct, or work on that infrastructure bill that we've been hearing about for years.

Yep, good news for everyone really (particularly for rehabilitated republicans like me and many in my family). The only way this could be better is if it happened about 6 years ago, and he was taking Turtle McConnell with him.

Kim Davis should be taking notes on this.

Boehner being reported as resigning

Woah. Didn't see this coming. Boehner is being said to resign not only as Speaker but also from Congress. This will be interesting.

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/26/us/boehner-will-resign-from-congress.html?_r=0

I'm sure the Pope told him he is going to rot in the hell where he belongs.

History will forever show his hate for America and the damage he has done to it and thus the world and he knows it.

Every one of the rest of his Republican Cabal should resign as well.
